gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottle, courtesy Tony at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours a hazy straw yellow color, with lots of cloudy white head and tons of lacing. Coriander, peach, apricot, clean zest, chalk..all in the nose. Flavor has much of the same, and better. Coriander, zest, lemony notes, peach, some chalk, lots of hay and wheat. Spicy on the tongue, easy to drink, a good representation of the style. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jun 6, 2008 Pale hazy yellow with a creamy and lasting white head. Coriander and clove in the aroma, with some grain and bread notes. Dry with coriander flavour and a hint of citrus. Hardly surprising, this is a wonderful wit. I wasn’t so satisfied last I had a Hoegaarden. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland Jun 2, 2008 Keg at Kaisla. Light yellow cloudy colour. More than average carbonation. Some lemon in the taste. Good for thirst. TaxiDriver (908), Stadland, Germany Jun 1, 2008 Bottle. Very strong smell of citrus, flowery, moderate sweet. Very refreshing smell. Small white foamy head, fast and fully diminishing. A clear yellow body. Light acidic taste, short duration. Light body, dry and watery texture, lively carbonation. A good beer for the summer. jdmhawk (31), Bettendorf, Iowa, USA May 28, 2008 pale yellow in color with white head. aroma is citrusy lemon. flavor is dominated by lemon and somewhat sour and grainy. too much lemon for me! ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden May 22, 2008 Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Wonderful cloudy glowing pale milky yellow colour, with a large and rich creamy head. Spicy, fruity, and sourish with clear lemon notes. Light to medium bodied, good carbonation. Quite dry, and a little too much acidic for this kind of beer i.m.o. tlind2 (560), Helsinki, Finland May 19, 2008 Draught @ Kolme Kaisaa. Cloudy yellow color, creamy white head. Aroma of cloves and lemon. The taste has a lot a fruit, mainly citrus, especially lemon zest. Fairly light body, medium-heavy carbonation. Quite appealing. Gusgus (176), Mölndal, Sweden Apr 28, 2008 Draught @ Duvel Cafe, Stockholm 080425. I really like this beer, although the current incarnation at Van Steenberge is normally brighter than it should be. Not so on draught though. It is perfectly opaque with a green-gray tint and creamy head. The aroma is very rich and creamy with american hops, but not grape, more of apricot purée peach, bananas and spicy, earthy hops. Probably Fuggles or something similar. Very soft and creamy wheat taste with a sour finish. The sourness increases in the aftertaste. Perfect color for a witbier and almost perfect palate too.
