Ungstrup (11353), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 28, 2003 An unclear light yellow beer with a fine head. The aroma fruity and dominated by lemon. The flavor is rather sour and like lemon. In the middle it is a little wheaty flat and sweet. In the end the flavor is slightly acidic wheaty. A very fresh beer. I think the Belgian version is more sour than the American version. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 15, 2005 Bottled Clear pale golden, rich head. Fresh, orangey nose. Light bodied and medium sweet. Fairly simple, but very refreshing. A very good wit! Papsoe (10267), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 3, 2005 Updated: Feb 27, 2006(Bottle 25 cl) Paleish yellow, with a very white, rather small head. Nice citrusy touches and a soft tartness. But nice and rounded with lots of flavours. Almost no body and no bitternes either. But quenching indeed. 181096
(Bottle 25 cl) As "Gensch Mannekes Pies" 4/2/5/2/9=2,2 291005 Oakes (6966), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Dec 1, 2005 Cloudy yellow colour. Malty, cheesy aroma - though purists would argue this is not actually cheese but some vile plasticy crap that calls itself cheese. The French certainly wouldn’t call it cheese and I suspect the Belgians wouldn’t either. That kind of cheese. Not something I want to smell in a beer, to say the least. The body is tart and watery with only a hint of coriander and an accent of nutmeg. A shade of a wit, and evidence that without vigilant stewardship, legacies have no staying power. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 16, 2007 25 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Sweet wheaty, citric and coriander spiced aroma. Citric sweet flavour, somewhat mellow wheaty in mouthfeel and flavour. It has that distinct coriander note which becomes slight too dominant to make the beer become really great. Ends slight lemonish and dry.
