There was a beer festival under the Brooklyn Bridge around the same time Pierre was debuting his beers in American. I was taken by this beer then. Something has changed, I’m sure. Slight sulfur musty nose. Hazy pale orange color with a fluffy white head. Corriander notes with some banana amidst a thin wheat body. Dainty napkin dry end. Creamy mouth feel. Quick and refreshing. Body is watery and still with a mellow lemonade flavor profile. Not very complex, but is a good refresher for a hot summer day. Sigmund (2306), Hafrsfjord, Norway

Lovely aroma of burnt caramel / treacle and spices. Flavour is not nearly that exciting, this is a fairly watery and bland wit. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA

Rerate: Terrible acidic aroma of buttermilk! Flavour is very refreshing and delicately spiced (cloves). Still, I would prefer less acidity and more fruitiness. Second rerate: The beer is a lot more refreshing and enjoyable on tap. bierkoning (6113), La Tropica, Netherlands

Yoghurt and fresh cheese flavors, with grapes and citrus. A clear rancid butter flavor. What has gone wrong with this beer? TRe-rate, tap Café De Nieuwe Roos Ootmarsum: Grape juice and coreander aroma and flavor. Fairly dry and fruity, with just a bit of citrus. Rather herbal and thin. (6 3 7 3 12 = 3.1)
Bottle, bought as Witte van Steenberge> Butter and traubenzucker in the aroma. Sweetish flavor with traubenzucker and citrus. Rather thin. Butter in the aftertaste. Decent, nothing more. hopscotch (5555), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 26, 2004 Hazy, yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent, swirling retention with just a hint of ink-blot lacing. The aroma is spicy and fruity with notes of lemon, soap and straw. The well-balanced flavor is a little too thin for my taste, but very lemony, pleasant and refreshing. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2003 An unclear light yellow beer with a fine head. The aroma fruity and dominated by lemon. The flavor is rather sour and like lemon. In the middle it is a little wheaty flat and sweet. In the end the flavor is slightly acidic wheaty. A very fresh beer. I think the Belgian version is more sour than the American version.
