COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bitterness and aromatic hops dominate this American pale ale. Strong full malt backbone to match. When you taste this you know your drinking a beer inspired by the adventurous west coast ales. 6.0% alcohol.

Pours a cloudy amber with a medium sized head, plenty of lacing. The nose is grainy with a bit of sweetness. The flavor is a bit bland but you do notice some hops and some malty sweetness; there isn’t much to say about the body, it finishes with a bit of bitterness. It isn’t anything special but it has a big step up compared to most macros.

I had this at a beer event in 2011 (CWBF?), wrote notes, couldn’t find the beer on RateBeer, looked into entering it into the database, lost the notes and said "well shit!" So here goes... Some previous ratings mentioned overcarbonation and for some reason, I didn’t really prepare for it. That said, it spilled on the table before I could pour the contents into Le Listermann. Nose is caramel and resin. sip = I like it. Almost nutty which suggests old bottle. Not what I would call an APA, maybe an Amber Ale though. -1 for the mess.

Bottle. Darker than expected. Hoppy aroma. The hops carry over to the taste. I bought it as a novelty because I have pet rats. Probably wouldn’t buy again.

Clear copper with a voluminous, chunky dark tan head. Aroma is malt, dusty, dry hops.. Caramel, cardboard flavours... Average.....but barely.

12oz bottle, definite hop aroma (almost like an ipa). Hop flavor, strong malt flavors as well as caramel. I guess the west coast apa have the hop flaovrs to them, but well balanced, slight bitter finish.

bottle, murky amber pour. heavy caramel/toffee maltiness. medium body. Not so great

Murky amber color with a foamy khaki colored head. This beer is distressingly carbonated and almost explodes on the tongue. Some stale old fruit taste with cardboard and wet hops. This is really not very good.

Bottle: massive, foamy light tan head on this. After it settled a bit I could see the beer... Dark, hazy amber colored. Grainy aromas... It’s interesting, but not really in a fun way. Little bit of a letdown. Grassy... Some sour notes. Fruity maybe? Ok beer.

Dark amber ale, great head, smooth mouth feel and great, classic taste. Everything you want in an American ale

12oz bottle. Poured all head. Settled into an amber color. Toasted grains with sweet caramel in the tastes.

Clear dark amber with a long-lasting head and swirls of lace. Taste is a combination of malt and dark fruit and other flavors that remind me of Dr. Pepper (soft drink). The finish becomes sour and bitter, which isn’t very satisfying., particularly since it goes down rather heavily. Overall, a big drink, especially for the abv, but not one I’d seek out.
