COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the second installment in the Questionable Origins series. It uses the same malts as #1, which is to say two. We keep the malt simple to focus on the hops. We feature Nelson Sauvin as the hop of choice in this strong pale ale. Nelson is Tim’s favorite hop. It is instantly recognizable with it’s big tropical fruit aroma, with hints of white wine grape, and this incredible diesel fuel like smell. Man I’m getting thirsty just typing this! We also threw in a dash of Centennial and Sterling for some spice and floral qualities.

Not much retention and no lacing. Smells of strong citrus hops and sweet malt notes. Great aroma. Many citrus notes on the tongue. Mainly grapefruit. Ends with a sweet malty bitterness. Numbing feeling left on the tongue. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at tasting room in early December. From notes. Pours pale light amber. Aroma: dank, tropical, pine ... tropical pine cone to the throat. Taste: earthy, herbal, hop-driven beer. Feels like I have a plant in my mouth. Bitter finish, reasonably dry, lasting pine bitterness. Light carbonation, medium body, slick/oily texture. Overall: questionable indeed. I didn’t have the commercial description there when I was drinking this, but comparing it against my notes makes me wonder if I was even drinking the same beer (it was definitely the same name), or if my mouth is just totally broken.

On tap @ Hog’s Apothecary. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Aroma is really big on the melon and tropical notes. Tons of grapefruit as well. Some sweet bread, pine, and a fairly floral aroma as well. Flavor has a nice fruity hop sweetness. Mild pine and citrus peel bitterness. Grapefruit, orange, and melon. Lots of floral notes, some light bread, and a hint of earth. Not their best, but pretty good.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit and light pine aroma. Floral and earthy flavor with grapefruit. Medium bodied. Floral notes and earth linger with grapefruit.
