Backlog rating. 33cl bottle from Beers of Europe. It pours a hazy apricot color with a small white head. Aroma is estery and hoppy, quite citrusy and grassy, with mild notes of ripe apricots and fresh fruity hops. Taste is hay, citrus peel, funk, pine cones, resinous hops, orange marmalade, toasted bread. Finish is lightly bitter and dry. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, very good

Bottle from The Beer Emporium, Bristol. Poured a hazy dark golden colour with a small solid white head. Aroma of caramel malt, grapefruit, and mild spices. Quite thin texture, average carbonation. Wasn’t keen on this.

Bottle from Gravity Station, Cardiff. Light amber with a massive creamy beige head. Hazy. Aroma is rose hips, cherry, vinous, spruce. A fruity sweetness in the taste quickly changes to an intense waxy bitterness. Long bitter finish. Very well made.

Bottled 05/07/14. A hazy light brown coloured beer with a white head. Very yeasty and chewy heavy. Low drinkability although it does have flavour. The yeast is Belgy funky but I’m not over fond.

Fliptop bottle 75cl. Little bit gushing, hazy amber brown, frothy tan head, recedes quickly, rim remains and lasting lacing; hop nose, malt, spices, tangerine, fruit syrup, apricot, citrus, hint of licorice; moderate bitterness, slightly sweet, citrus notes; medium body, oily texture, astringent and woody finish. More an IPA, not a bière de garde.

a good red bière de garde taste similar as a red/amber ale (style IPA) Nose of nut Aroma: toasted and roasted, mostly at the end (before it’s a bit flat) Sympa et deshaltérant + acidité des acides qui "pétillent" à la fin On Tap at La Capsule (Lille)
