3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GoufCustom (221) - HONG KONG - MAY 7, 2013
500 ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.
Translucent golden honey orange colour; Two finger head and long lasting crumpety white foam; Good lacing with fizzy carbonation; Very fragrant aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, honey, floral, orange, sugar and light grass; Medium, astringent sweet taste of light grapefruit, lemon, molasses, light malt, orange peel, lime and grassy hops; Medium body, thick and quite oily palate; Taste profile is dominated by fruity grassy hops, mainly lemony citrus. Grapefruit took a 2nd fiddle, quite strong but somewhat less refreshing or expressive than Celt Silures. All in a rather sugary light malt background. Taste balance is tilted toward sugar sweetness but not cloying or syrupy. Still very hoppy as in most Celt Ex brews, from start to finish. Bitterness and lasting astringency to light up the palate, quite lively, slightly refreshing but not mind blowing. Okay. Pretty dry after taste, sweet and hoppy to mouth.
Comments: This should have been the straight forward, boozed up version of the excellent Celt Silures. Yet, its hoppiness is not as lively or refreshing as the latter. The result is a decent but hop-wise dimmed brew, pale in comparison to the mind-blowing Celt Silures. It’s decent, but it’s lacking that ‘little something’ to be top class. I’ll still drink this, but only when Celt Silures is out of stock.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jesperhammer (2221) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 27, 2013
27-APR-2013, bottle @home, from Superbest.
Almost clear golden with white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and fresh grape fruit. Taste is malty sweet with caramel and dried fruit but aldo quite some hoppy grape fruit and a touch of orange.
Medium body and carbonation. Better than expected. A nice little pale ale like brew.

Light copper coloured with a small head. It has plenty of tasty biscuit malts with some fruits evident in both aroma and its flavour.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 johninmelb (1005) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2013
Subtle, fruity nose with some candy and a hint of herbs. Flavour is very, well, strong aley - a great example of the style. A lot of bitterness in the finish from the hop carries this beer really and lifts it from being just another ESA to being quite pleasant.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 BOBBDrinker (42) - - MAR 22, 2013
A pleasantly refreshing strong IPA Bleddyn has maltly aromas with a subtle hint of citrus, however the roles are reversed in the taste, a strong hoppy zesty citrus flavour fades away into a mellow slightly maltly grapefruit taste. This beer pours clearly into the glass with ample head almost a quarter of a pint glass and it stays pure white until you have drunk the last drop.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fidelis83 (1589) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - FEB 22, 2013
Hazy, pale gold pour with a 2 finger, frothy, white head that has good retention and leaves decent lacing. Tree fruit, berries, bitter citrus and biscuit in the aroma. Taste starts out with lots of mineral, cereal malts, light toffee, floral (thistle flower comes to mind), herbal, and bitter citrus hops with a nice, light honey-like sweetness riding out the citrus and mineral finish. Medium body, oily, to creamy feel and moderate carbonation. Pretty good overall, nicely hoppy, while still retaining a distinctly Englishy profile.

500 ml bottle. Malty, some herbal and caramel aromas. Pours dark gold, clear, with vanishing white head. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Taste is sweet, herbal. some caramel. Correct, but nothing remarkable.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jmohno (831) - Iowa, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Goldish light copper,clear,short head,lacing.
Sweet ripe-fruit aroma, with spice, tart, buttery, bready cracker, maybe slight dms. I was gonna say it has a bitter aroma, but now that I think about it that is like a ruby red grapefruit likeness.Like a sweet ripe fruit with a tart/sourness note.Almost skunky and grasssy like.Fairly complex aroma having the english with it. The buttery tones may stick out more dominatly.
Really nice taste, ripe fresh fruit, nice mild sweetness with a stronger bitter/hoppiness.Mild classic dyacytal english taste, spicey floral notes, pretty spicey type bittering. Some what grassy almost skunkyness.Grassy/spicey bittering linger.
Very flavorfull with good character for a 5%er.
