This organically crafted ale has a delightful rich bronze colour and is distinguished by a full bodied character with crystal maltiness. A lovely delicate sweetness soon develops into a long hop finish through the traditional blend of hops. Drinkers will enjoy the real traditional values of this great smooth ale. This beer is named after the Bronze Age Celts. Recent discoveries in Bavaria have shown Celtic tribes were brewing as far back as 800 BC. The name Bracis-Curmi (malted beer) traces back to the ancient Celtic language or proto-celtic, an age where Celts were some of the first beer producers in Europe.

Bronze has a tempting hoppy aroma of especially citrus, but also a bit malty character rises from the glass. Foam is serious and persistent and the beer is beautifully clear amber. Only a little caramel malt at first tentative sip, while it’s dominated with a crisp hoppy flavor of citrus. Citrus fruit tastes like bitter lemon zest, and not as the lemon mouthwatering and tangy pulp that can otherwise provide a nice shade of hops in heavy beer. A little boring.

Ambar. Espuma abundante y aguanta hasta el final. Olor potente, herbal y sobre todo naranja. En boca, muy muy amarga. Y sin compensar. Sorprende para el estilo. Tan amarga o más que una IPA, pero se queda en sólo amargor. Pase amargo, final amargo, postgusto amargo. Cítrica y amarga. Pena.

500ml bottle, just out of date when opened on 15th Dec 2014. Bought at Beers of Europe and hidden in my stash until I rediscovered it yesterday. Poured at home into an Abbot Ale glass tankard, my ’go to’ tasting glass currently. Lovely clear body, bronze hue to the amber colouring: on top a smooth white blanket of foam. Semi-sweet malty lead in the aroma and taste, hops arriving in sweeping waves behind. Mild nutty hints within the taste and my sweet tooth loved the malt base of the brew. Good, nice feel to the blend of flavours, body depth also worthy of note. I am really impressed with the beers from these guys: will seek out more.

Bottle from Booths, Keswick. Amber coloured with toffee, citrus, pine and red fruity flavours followed by a nutty, oak, bitter woody hop and creamy fruity finish.

The color is a cloudy orangeish brown with a large off-white head, and the beer’s scent blends earthy hops, basement aromas, and caramel and light malts. The taste is mildly bitter, mildly sour, and a touch umami, and the palate fuses a slightly bitter finish, medium body, slick texture, and a soft carbonation.

Bottle. Copper colored with a nice head. Aroma is a tad weak with mostly malt. Taste is surprisingly bitter. Needs more balance.

Bottle from Morrisons Connahs Quay. Pours a clear gold amber with a pillowy off white head. Aroma is doughy, hops and slight peppery spice. Taste is dry and bitter, caramel notes, with hops thrown in for good measure. Drinkable, but a little bit TOO dry for my taste.
