3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Mahogany brown body, tall head. Hoppy and caramelly aroma, taste has medium roast and medium hops. Finish has some light roast and notable hop bitterness. My first Mild Ale. But is this what a Mild Ale is supposed to taste like? "Little or no hop flavour or aroma" certainly doesn’t apply to this beer so I will need to find more samples to understand the style.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark with brown and ruby tints held under the light. Big finger-length head with average retention that leaves medium lacing. Pleasing aroma of nutty, chocolate malts and a hint of fruit. Creamy, well-carbonated mouthfeel. Flavor is mild with a bit of roast and bitterness. Good.

500ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Dark brown color. Small off-white head, stays. Mild roast, malty, bit of caramel in aroma. Weak aroma. Roasted malts, wood, hops, sweetish notes in flavor. Nice one.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Slightly sharpish and minerally aroma, a bit sulfurous. Retronasals very sulfury. Treacly malts, harsh hops. more sulfur. A bit disappointing, minerals and harshness reduce the enjoyment of the caramelly malts.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle.
Pours a black colour with a creamy white head. Aroma of roasted malts, biscuit, dark chocolate and some cream. Flavour of roasted malts, biscuit, some rubber, some veggie notes, cream and salty licorice. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and high-ish carbonation. Flavour is a bit off and the amount of carbonation disturbs me.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
50 cl bottle.
Pours clear dark mahogany color with a large frothy head. Aroma is a bit sweet with honey and caramel notes, some subtle fruit and hay with hops and faint chocolate. Flavor is somewhat creamy and chocolaty with a salty twist on it, faint coffee notes on the background with a mildly grassy and fruity finish. Medium carbonation, long salty finish. A bit odd but somehow works.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a thick foamy head. Aroma is quite difficult to pick up, but there is light roast. Palate starts dark grains and fruit but quickly transforms into drying bitterness rather than sweetness. Not bad, might go well with a bit of cheese.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
BB 07/04/2014. Poured a semi-translucent garnet red colour with a two finger light beige foamy head that diminished a bit but retained a ring of foam so it laced well. Moderate to high carbonation as seen by medium sized bubbles forming trails. Aroma a nice strong sweet fruity yeast plus a slight roasted malt and with slight chocolate as well. Taste initially sweet toffee followed by a strong roasted malt that gave a somewhat burnt bitter after-taste - the taste starts out a bit flat and sweet but then the charred malt comes through and dominates for some time until the beer warmed. Light body. Smooth, light, strong flavours with a nice subtle smoky finish as the beer warmed. Overall a good dark ale.
