Celt Dark-Age is a delicious full bodied Welsh dark beer. The beer has a special blend of coffee and chocolate flavours, which are balanced with a smooth aroma with subtle notes of caramel and dark fruit, leading to a bitter finish. This beers name comes from the Dark age. Folklore has highlighted many stories of Celtic warriors and kings that waged successful battles against the intruding Anglo-Saxons. None more than King Arthur, who legend has it, fought in 12 battles in the late 5th and early 6th century.

a very mild ale, for sure. only 4% alcohol, which is weak and disappointing. still, it’s a nice tasting "dark ale".

Clean garnet brown pour with ruby notes on the edge. Creamy mocha tan head. Aroma shows light roast with a coffee-ish character and toasted malt. Light roast in the flavor with some notes of coffee and sharp metallic notes. The body is light dry and bitter with some roast on the finish.

16.9 oz bottle, pours a clear ruby color with an off white diminishing head. Very watery with smoke and a mild astringent taste, carring through to a fairly long finish. Not my favorite style but would serve well for a sessiion.

Tasted from a cool-looking brown pint bottle into a nonic pint glass (sorry, no Anglo-Saxon skulls handy). It poured an almost opaque, very dark reddish brown colour with fluffy, beige foam, deep banks of spritzy little bubbles, and lots of lace. Aromas and flavours of husky grains, chocolate malt, black malt, toast, medium-roast coffee, burnt orange English hops notes. Palate was light, crisp, tart, bright acidity, not as full-bodied as they claim, but definitely complex and very refreshing which is a tough combo. Delicious. I want more.

A nice smokey brew. Yet a bit to carbonated and needs a bit more on the tongue. Smokey with a bitter end not a bad brew ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I wish more US craft brewers would brew a mild. Deep garnet colored beer with a small beige head. Nose of roasted grain and dark fruit. Flavors of burnt toast, smoldering fire, dark fruits and enough water to remind you that it is a 4% beer. Very easy drinking and infinitely sessionable. Not all that interesting or complex, but flavorful and a beer I could drink all day. And it appears to be organic....

500ml bottle. Superb clear darkest ruby red colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Aroma has fruity notes of red berries, a slight grainy and yeasty touch. Taste has gentle roasted barley notes, some husk, a touch of milk chocolate, cautious hints of dried dark fruit, integrated bitter hop notes.

Bottled (From AbM). Deep coppery brown colour, close to black, with a small beige head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is coffee, mild rye, some ripe fruits as well as mild toffee and some mild syrupy notes. Flavour is ripe dry fruits, some chocolate, mild toasted notes as well as some mild nuttyness and mild syrupy sweetness as well. Quite a bodied beer, although being only 4 % in the abv.
