COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Status uncertain.
A powerful and deep bodied pale-amber ale with a fruit spectrum of aromas. This robust beer is brewed using a balance of flavour malts and Pacific and Alantic hops, the result is a massive beer with a perfect profile of bitterness, sweet vanilla maltiness and a blend of citrus passionfruit and mango on the finish. The beer is named after a powerful and warlike tribe of ancient Britain, occupying approximately the counties of Monmouthshire, Breconshire. The Silures made a fierce resistance to the Roman conquest about AD 48, and it remains unclear whether they were actually militarily defeated or simply agreed to come to terms with the Romans!

The head is ok, the body a bit brown. It smells hoppy, a bit bitter, fruity. The taste is hoppy intenisve, a bit fruity, bit malty, refreshing. Ok 12/11/11/11/12/11

Pours the promised golden with a thin white head and light, fine-beaded carbination. Aromas of stewed fruit, malt and a little grassy-herbal note on the nose. Starts out quite light with some apple and lemon, before a decent whack of hoppy bitterness kicks in. Drops away a bit at the finish, but leaves a nice spice-lemon aftertaste. Very good English style golden ale.

Gold tinted copper, a little hazy, white head which doesnt last. Nice malt profile in the aroma, bread, cereal, vanilla, summer fruits, doughy yeast and toffee. Smells great. More sweet, bready malts in the flavour, refrain of the fruits and toffee of the nose. Next comes a dry hoppiness to offset that sweetness. Body is fairly robust, sharp, tight carbonation. Mouthfeel is quite slick. Finish is a nice balance of bitter and sweet, with the sweet maltiness winning out slightly. My first from this brewery , will be back to try the others.

Cask at William Steam JDW, Darlington. Golden yellow colour, white head leaving lots of lacing and citrus aroma. Taste is caramel malt with grapefruit citrus and a dry bitter finish. Soapy mouth feel, medium body, soft carbonation. Quite drinkable.

Bottled (from AbM). Yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, some mild nectar and vanilla as well. Flavour is sweet malts, mild bready notes along with nectar and some tropical fruits. Quite interesting bitterness kicking in rather lately.

Tons of lychee and mango on the nose. Pours a deep gold with a very firm, fluffy head. Flavour is well-balanced with strong bitter notes threaded with complex, fruity hops and a long, long dry finish with notes of spruce, citrus and passionfruit. Surprisingly good.

500ml bottle bought at TASTE in Olympian City, Tai Kok Tsui. Translucent deep golden honey colour; One finger head and slightly off-white foam which last for about 2 minutes; Good lacing with lively carbonation; Very fragrant aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, brown sugar and floral; Light, astringent sweet taste of grapefruit, lemon, molasses, malt, orange peel, strong bitter lime and grass; Medium body, oily palate; Taste profile is dominated by very refreshing grapefruit, citrus and orange peels, wrapped around by really astringent but pleasant hops. Luckily there is some light molasses to balance it out. Very well hopped from start to finish like some good classic German Pils and strong IPAs, with fine bitterness and lasting astringency to lit up my palate. Well done! Pretty dry after taste, temptingly bitter to mouth.

Comments: My first try of this brand and I’ve already hit a jackpot - an excellent, very solid Blonde Ale with taste like a very good IPA, plus very refreshing floral aroma and citrusy taste. Hoppiness is where this ale really shines, with sharp but not forbidding bitterness and astringency that IPA lovers always crave for. Highly Recommended!

Handpull, The Felix Holt, Nuneaton, 16/03/13. Fat-headed, dark resolving gold. Mildly pungent, bristling grapefruit and shampoo hop; perfumed tropical and floral hints over a husky malt base. Seriously bitter linger. Fairly neutral, orange-hinting aroma gathering dragonfruit hints. Good.

On tap at The Tivoli, Cambridge Wetherspoons. Lovely tropical fruits aroma and taste, pale in colour. Very hops dominated, little to no backing from the malts but this is not a problem for me as I love hop centric beers. Mango/grapefruit taste, rather bitter, great to snag for £2 a pint at a JDW.

Cask at bridge house, Belfast
Pale gold with strong tropical mangoes and peaches on nose. Sweet malt and tropical fruit up front in taste by bitterness too astringent for malt to cope.
