3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Finally, a Welsh rate. RateBeer has been discretely badgering me about it for years - itís the easiest country to nail that you havenít rated, the stats say. Damn it, RateBeer, Iím trying, honest! Welsh beer seems to travel to Australia about as rarely as the rugby team these days. Shame. My low expectations for this ale, stumbled on in a pretty run-of-the-mill country bottlo, were pleasantly surpassed. Gold with a chill haze and a loose, shallow head. Fresh, malt-dominated aroma. Lemon, honey and 3am rolls. Palate seems mildly underdone - verging on flat. May be the bottle age or an attempt to mimic cask conditioning? Bread, bread, bread on the tongue. May be the breadiest ale Iíve come across. No complaints here. Bit herbal, bit floral. Overall, one of the best bottled ales Iíve had from the UK, with none of that nasty pasteurised lolly taint. Nice work. (500ml bottle from DíVine Cellars, Wentworth Falls. BB 4/11/13)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rating #988 - February 17, 2014 - 1oz sample - portfolio tasting from Global. My first Welsh beer. Clear golden pour, hint of copper colour, weak white foam that bubbles away slowly to a soapy ring. Aroma is earthy malts, hints of caramel, lemon. Taste is a mild sweetness, honey, citrus followed by a mild hop bite. Very nice.

"Golden amber appearance with a big bubbly off-white head and some carbonation. Good lacing. Very nice mix of malts and hops. Not too bitter. Some citrus flavours abound, along with ginger and a hint of sweetness. Mouthfeel is smooth and quite pleasant. Enjoyable and not strong on the palate."

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle. Opened two weeks after the best by date, solid for $2.49 a bottle. Hazy orange-yellow body. Foamy white heat laces up the glass. Kind of an odd aroma, some buttery tones Iím not really enjoying. Medium bodied, somewhat similar to a Session IPA with the grapefruit hops. There is some fishy rancid action going on unfortunately. I hope the other Celt beers are better than this, and that this is better fresh.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Duften er så absolut det bedste ved denne øl. Den fremstår grumset og er meget tør i både smag og eftersmag. Alt i alt en ganske fin Golden ale.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Gold with an inch of white head. Aroma is floral with herbal lemon, honey. Sweet with hay and honey, quite earthy and little dusty, pithy citrus, a little pine, lingering rather bitter finish. Has a lot of presence for 4.2%.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden pour, white head. Toffee in the smell with some spice. Flavor is grapefruit blended with breadcrust and a tiny hint of crystal malt. Dry and zippy. Got all of these Celt beers for 2$ each and before the bb date. Still overpriced but for an import organic ale it is a steal.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. 2 days past best drink by date. Pours a hazy medium orange golden, bubbles surrounding glass, small soapy white head. Aroma is dry, a little sweet, toasty, earthy hops, little caramel, light citrus. Light and crisp. Some creaminess. Finish is quite bitter, dry and outlasting its welcome. Earthy, cracker, light citrusy. Enjoyed a little more as it warmed a bit further than I already had, but not the best drinkability for me.

Aroma is dry, a little sour(?) hops, hay, earthiness.
Taste is fairly bitter, a little citrus or something in there, light and golden, just like the color. Cracker. Fairly strong bitter finish.
