_angst_ (2564) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 13, 2014
Bottle received as extra in trade. Thank you Theydon_Bois! Pours tiny hazy golden with a rather small frothy white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is fruity, slightly yeasty, slightly estery and phenolic with white bread, candi sugar, overripe tropical fruits, grapefruit juice, pears, apples, glue, hay, dry soil, pepper corns and orange zest. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, fruity and phenolic with white bread, plums, mango, orange zest, lemon zest, sheet metal, pear skins, apple skins, grapes, pepper corns and hay. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, slightly astringent, round and medium bodied. Finish is fruity and phenolic with white bread, pears, apples, hay, pepper corns and unripe tropical fruits. Decent untraditional tripel.

Bottle from Melbourne Street Fine Wine Cellars. A lovely sweet citrus aroma, with a hint of toffee. Light sweet, salty and bitter taste. Very nice.

330ml bottle. Orange/amber, with a big frothy head. Yeasty, estery nose, not much spice, a little orange peel. Sweet palate, well balanced with bittering hops. Lots of orange peel / burnt orange flavours, but I can’t taste any cinnamon. Tasty stuff, and finished too soon.

I hate the blurb on these bottles with a fiery passion. "Seasonal calendar of tree magic" my arse. That said, this is a lovely tripel . Hazy yellow pour, big frothy white head. Cinnamon and yeast esters on the nose, light wheat. Taste is the right side of sweet. Nice spice linger. Good. Apart from the druidic shite.

bulldogops (1039) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 5, 2014
Rating #991 - February 17, 2014 - 1oz sample, portfolio tasting. 8.5%. Pours a cloudy orange colour, with a frothy white foam. Aroma is yeasty, spiced with coriander, light citrus. Taste is excellent, light hoppy bite, great yeasty sourness, and a nice light sweet note of citrus, coriander. Delicious for a non-belgy tripel.

AdiBeer (875) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 28, 2014
Aroma: yeast, lightly fruity, fresh hops. Appearance: hazy pale gold, medium frothy head. Taste: light to medium sweet. Palate: low to medium carbonation, immediately sweets coming up, fruity flavours, average-long finish. Overall: too yeasty for me in the aroma, but otherwise nice Abbey Tripel. Bottle from Beer Hawk, England.
