Ogham Oak Exotic Tripel – 8.5%
35 IBUs – Belgium Yeast, Orange Peel and Cinnamon
Oak is a cosmic storehouse of wisdom embodied within its towering strength. The oak tree endures what others cannot.
Each batch is brewed with fresh ‘tripel’ yeast borrowed from a secret location in Flanders. The beer has a complex flavour combining resinous bite from the American hops, spicy esters from the belgium yeast and fruit and cinnomon twists from the belgium fruits and spices. All finished with supreme British malt and candy sugar…

clear burnished gold with higher alcohols and fruity peardrop esters, full bodied, gentle carbonation, dry very Belgian yeast profile but otherwise quite one dimensional...disappointing.

Bottle from beersofeurope. Golden beer with halo. Aroma of citrus orange and yeast. Taste is marmalade, yeast and citrus. A little oily on the palate. Good stuff.

Bottle. Golden with a small head. Slightly sour with some hops. Powerful and different enough to stand out. Left lots of lacing.

Bottle from Beer Hawk. A hazy golden coloured pour with a small white head on top. Yeasty, lemon, spice aroma. Tastes similar, yeasty, lemon, spice, marmalade. A really drinkable, bitter/sweet tripel. Quite tasty.

Aroma is grapefruit, passionfruit, lemon grass and a subtle earthiness. The malt character is met quickly by a sweet and lightly smokey oakiness. finishes with a tarty bitterness thst lingers slightly. PLeasant sweetness on tip. Appearance is a clear straw /gold with a medium pearl head that retains well.

Bottle at Prince of Wales, Cardiff. Amber/copper with a massive white head. Aroma of coriander, citrus and ginger nuts. Sour/bitter with a lingering astringent aftertaste: not all that great. The carbonation backs up a slightly thin body. Ok but far from exceptional. I expected more.

Smells citrus, bubblegum, toffee & vanilla, floral, dough. Looks golden, hazy, white foam. medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, salty. Medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, bitter, sting and spice. Overall a great surprise from oak aged beer. Expected heavy beer but its like a well balanced gewürtstraminer with a beer touch.

Fair decent is this. Lovely look, lovely pour, great aroma, needs however slightly more body to make it that notch higher. I’d easily and willingly buy more of this though it really is very simple easy well crafted and all round just a good beer.

Bottled. A yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, malt, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.
