Bottle. Appearance: very clear golden orange with frothy white head. Aroma: big floral notes, some tangerine, grapefruit, and pine. Taste: mild floral hoppiness up front with a little citrus coming in and a light bread and toast backbone ending with some dry tea leaf and bitter pine. Mouthfeel: thinnish body with medium carbonation. Overall: It is decent. The aroma definitely sets up great expectations but the taste was quite a bit flat by comparison. It's a solid beginning for this new brewery.

Pocahoptas IPA is has a good bit of viscosity with a mouth feel suggesting higher gravity. Hops offer flavors of pine, grapefruit and hints of tropical fruit. Hop complexity is fleeting but malt sustains flavor longer. While not aggressive, bitterness continues to provide balance after hop flavor fades.

Keg @ COTU. The pour’s amber with a medium off-white head. The nose is huge. Loads of pine wood. West coast sea breeze. Some dank underarm, college. The taste is similar. Pine wood, cantaloupw, pineapple. A touch of citrus. Bitter finish. Medium body, average carbonation. A very tasty beer served on great form.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at GBBF 2013. It pours golden amber with a minimal white head. The nose is juicy pine, orange, peach, apricot, resin, marmalade and faint herbal accents. The taste is oily, pine, resinous, peppery hops, alcohol kick and varnish with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body, low carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Taste doesn’t quite live up to taste, but still pretty decent.
