Bottle. Appearance: very clear golden orange with frothy white head. Aroma: big floral notes, some tangerine, grapefruit, and pine. Taste: mild floral hoppiness up front with a little citrus coming in and a light bread and toast backbone ending with some dry tea leaf and bitter pine. Mouthfeel: thinnish body with medium carbonation. Overall: It is decent. The aroma definitely sets up great expectations but the taste was quite a bit flat by comparison. It's a solid beginning for this new brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours brownish/amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of a lot of citrusy and fruity hops plus a decent amount of malts. Flavor the same with a nice hoppiness but something about the malts is a little off on the finish. Average texture. A decent IPA, and I’d like to see what this one turns out to be if the recipe was tweaked a little.

Growler. Poured hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose was intense pineapple grapefruit, hops. Tasted hoppy, piney, with mid-palate pineapple, tangerine, and grapefruit flavors. This one pounded the palate with a pulchritude of piney, pulpy, particles.

light brown minimal head Malt bomb, NICE galaxy and citra aroma with this weird rotten mango nose. Muscadine, pine cones and maple. Lots of woodiness, some nuttiness like walnut. and some honey. Very dry malty finish.

Moderately strong aroma of tangerine and grapefruit peel, with rosehip accents. Crystal clear orange, thick yellowish head. Cask-like mouthfeel despite being poured from a bottle. Medium body, resinous. Prominent grapefruit peel flavor, which is decidely less complex than the bouquet.

Split a 22oz bottle with some friends, thanks to a buddy bringing it up this way. Poured an amber color with a medium sized slightly off-white head. Aroma was fruits (light strawberries, touch of light tropical notes), fruit hops. Flavor was refreshing light fruits, with a nice sweet malt character to it. Really enjoyed this particular brew.

Tap at Mekong in Richmond VA. Pours a clear deep tea amber. Medium off white foam. Nose is quite fruity hoppy, Big cantaloupe, strawberry, mango, mild caramel candy. Taste is salty, buoyant, not too sticky, nutty bitter, orange peel, hints of plastic. Finishing with plastic, some booze, and long nutty bitterness. Fiancé rating : 3.6

Draft at the brewpub. Very similar to the Richard, but a half shade off in color and a tad more bodied. Same metallic edge, bit of a dirty, earthy hoppiness. (#4925, 1/19/2013)

Tap. Copper color with thin white head. Nice aroma of cat pissy hops. Yummy strong bitter dry hop flavor- maybe a hint of rubber. Long bitter finish.
