Super dark red pour, huge fluffy, sticky off white head. Lovely citrus aroma, big notes of pine, and some sticky chewy malts. The hops are pungent, and sticky, and quite bitter. the mouthfeel is sticky, and thick, the carbonation is a little low and soft. the finish is highly bitter, big notes of grassy, citrucy hops. The malts are thick with caramel, and bread. A big hoppy red ale, nice stuff.

Bottle. Aroma has quite strong hops (grassy, herbal, noble) with decent caramel and alcohol notes. Clear reddish amber colour. Taste has quite strong sweetness with caramel and light candy, in conjunction with high hoppy bitterness. Nicely balanced and nicely drinkable, overall very nice beer.

daniel0017 (441) - Yukon, CANADA - NOV 27, 2013
Dark ruby red complexion with a thin, beige foamy head. Oak, sweet malt, fresh bread and slight hops to the nose. Flavor is tart, tangy at first, as time goes on, a breadier hoppier character emerges and finishes dry. Velvet mouthfeel, long-lasting bitter-sweet aftertaste.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
RumRunner101 (918) - Alberta, CANADA - AUG 2, 2013
Red brown pour with an off white head. Aroma has butterscotch, light roasted malt and a surprisingly good dose of brown banana. More banana in the flavour with burnt toast malt. Hops come in mid palate, and have a good profile, but then the banana creaminess lingers. It’s not terrible, but there’s definitely flaws.

sulawang (1051) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 31, 2013
Visual: Cool label. Pours beer bottle reddish-brown with no head, very thin ringed retention, a bit of lacing, some steady streams. Nose: Papaya and hints of guava Attack: 8/10 quickly fading brown sugar sweetness, Mid-palate: papaya fruity malts, caramel, brown sugar Finish: medium sourness, tangy, lingering grapefruit sharp bitter hop/med-heavy malted finish Summary: Medium to full-bodied, quite balanced but weighs on the palate because it doesn’t have any refreshing characteristics. The 9.5% abv is decently hidden.
