COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dry hopped with whole leaf hops from the Yakima Valley, combined with Maris Otter English barley, which is floor-malted in age old tradition. A long maturation ensures plenty of flavour, with strong aromatics of grapefruit, tangerine and mango.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 Bomber. Unclear copper orange, medium foamy off-white head settles and fades. Pungent fruity pine citrus hop aroma. This one packs a punch; intense resinous citrus pine hop taste, deep malts, some caramel/toffee, grapefruit, floral and herbal notes. Average carbonation, full bodied, aggressively hopped. Have rated a few lesser Impy’s recently, this one re-establishes the bar. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

As Red Betty Imperial IPA. pours a clear amber with a small light tan head, and great lacing. smell is of hops, citrus, caramel, light malt, graham cracker, and a tad floral. taste is smooth, bitter, a nice malt, hops, a touch citrus, and dandelion. ends bitter.

Bottle:   Copper hued amber, thin to moderate frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Super strong pine and pith on the nose.   Similar on the tongue, a bit out of balance.   Seems to be strong pine and pith, very mild sweetness.   A bit rough and green, certainly a bruiser of a beer.   Almost syrupy.   Pith and pine hoppiness, not too floral or citrusy, nor sweet in that sense.   Sweet pine maybe?   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Rough finish.   Meh...

Pours a four finger off-white head that slowly fades leaving a very good lace. Crystal clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Pine hop nose and flavor is nice balance of pine hops and sweet fruit, higher ABV is hidden. Decent IIPA. $10.20 for a 22oz bottle from a Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, ME. Bottle label is Red Betty IIPA but the ABV is still 9.0% so I think this is the same as Red Racer IIPA.

Tend not too like IPAs but really liked this one due to the fruity aroma and taste that takes the edge of the bitterness. Nice medium dark clear brown colour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Appearance is a clear copper and amber color with a half-inch of beige foam. Loads of pine resin, tropical fruit and caramel malt sweetness in the aroma. The flavor delivers a heavy dose of resiny hops, ruby red grapefruit, pineapple and mango along with some pine, caramel and leafy hops bitterness at the end. Overall, a well-balanced IIPA with lots of complex tropical fruit and citrus notes held in check by a hefty ABV and strong malt backbone.

Review #764- Nov 12, 2013. 16ozs of golden deliciousness at Beer Revolution in #yeg. Clear golden pour with a bubbly white foam, spotty lacing. Nose is tangerine, mango essentially the tropics in a blender. Mouthfeel crisp, mild alcohol warmth, low-medium carbonation. Taste is sweet orangey/meyer lemony notes with the spicy tang and hoppy bite. Great Canadian DIPA.

Pours a nice burnt orange colour with a short lived white head. The aroma is resinous hops, pine, citrus, tropical fruit. The flavour follows suit note for note with a nice bit of malty toffee backbone. Solid from start to finish.

Nice almost ruby/ amber pour. Nose is nice pine resin. Mouthfeel is smooth with no astringency. Flavour is well balanced but a touch old ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
