COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dry hopped with whole leaf hops from the Yakima Valley, combined with Maris Otter English barley, which is floor-malted in age old tradition. A long maturation ensures plenty of flavour, with strong aromatics of grapefruit, tangerine and mango.

Bottle: Dark, sort of dirty copper pour with a moderate beige head. A bit of sticky lacing throughout. The nose is sweet, some citrus and floral hops, along with a little bit of vanilla. I think the floral hops are a bit faded and contributing to the sweetness, but just a hunch. Mostly floral hops taste and light bready malt. There is a bit of dry tea leaf flavor too. Lingering bitters and pine in the tail and somewhat warming. Better as it warmed.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2015 Pours murky amber. Head is thick and beige with great lacing. Aroma is of grass pine orange and other exotic fruits I can?t put my finger on. Taste is BOOM! flavor explosion. Grass, pine orange and almost a tart malt sugariness. Sweet malty finish with plenty of FRESH hop bitterness that actually lasts and lasts. Damn that?s good.

Bomber into a stemmed glass. Pours a thick marble amber with hues of caramel, brown bark, and dark orange. Head is moderately full, about an inch, lacing prevalent all over, gives off a sticky feel. Aroma of fantastical hops, orange, melon, grass, clementines, slight ginger beer, and amber malts. Taste of juicy hops up front, followed by melon configurations, grapefruit, pine, bitter grape, apple, more hops, with a solid malt kick throughout. No brewed on date, but this seems fresh and is delicious. Drinks well, bitter aftertaste, quite so at times, then hops waltz in to remind you of the imp IPA status. 9% is just, the booze proclaims a head nod at all times. But never too overbearing. Quite an enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Dust and grapefruit aroma with pine and caramel. Caramel and grapefruit flavor with pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Caramel and pine lingers with grapefruit.

A lovely, if a bit strong IPA. A lovely drink! Red Betty extra strong. I am going to add more words now even though I don’t want to but RateBeer is forcing me to.

Bottled sample. Strong pineapple/citrus aroma. Cloudy copper colour with minimal head. Highly hopped with pineapple, grapefruit, lime notes. Medium palate and some more bitterness in the finish. Excellent IPA.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2015 ENG: I am doing an edit of this review. New bottle, purchased in Liquor Mart in Winnipeg differs quite strongly than the bottle I tried in Edmonton. Bolded words means new additions. 650ml bottle from Sherbrooke store, Edmonton. Poured into the glass. Golden-amber color with haze. A lot of tiny little residue in it. Medium to small tan head without too much lacing, disappearing really fast. Aromas of mango(!), grapefruit, herbs, pine, maybe tea. When harder stirred, you can smell something like a pickled cabbage with cumin (but it’s just a association). Taste of hops, grapefruit, licorice (licorice is much less perceptible than the last time), roasted malts and I think that tea is present also in the taste - like a earl grey tea mixed with honey. Some tropical fruits also in the background. Bitter and roasty aftertaste. "A little bit too settling on the stomach and styptic - that’s a one heavy beer." - that’s what I wrote down last time as a overall conclusion, but this time I wouldn’t say anything like that. It’s more fruity, more pleasant, much more interesting. Probably this time I drink fresh brew (or they change the recipe, which I doubt). I raised the notes a bit. I must say I enjoyed it this time!
