Mosaic hops lend to this light and fruity ale with a good bitterness and malt balance, coupled with refreshing hop aromatics. This session ale is bit on flavour and light in alcohol.

Canada pale ale malt, Munich malt, Caravienne malt, Mosaic hops; ABV 4%; IBU 40; SRM 8

On February 4th, 2014 we launched our new ISA – India Session Ale at a “mystery beer” launch event. The event was held at Darby’s Pub in Vancouver and featured an expert panel consisting of Certified Cicerone and Beer Educator Chester Cary, author of Craft Beer Revolution Joe Wiebe, and Dustan Sept of Norco Bicycles & BeerMeBC.com. Along with a room full of Central City fans the lads blind tasted the latest Red Racer release. To find out what they thought check out the video on our brand new RedRacerBeer.com!

Editor’s note: Alcohol on the cans says 4%, but reports from the brewpub tend to have a lower number.

Pours light amber, little head. Smell is apricot, tangerine, cut grass. Taste is a peculiar blend of hops mixed with malt sweetness. Too sweet. Floral, herbal taste. Bit too medicinal of a taste for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can as Red Betty from Bine & Vine. Pours translucent gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is floral and light caramel. Med body, nearly. Flavor is lightly caramel, lightly bitter, and more floral than anything else. Might be a touch of citrus. Ok session IPA.

Pale golden white head, thin. Clear, looks very light. Not a big aroma, but definitely smell some hops. Really light and really flavourful, a great representation of the original IPA! Too refreshing and easy to drink.

On tap @ Tap & Barrel - Coal Harbour. Pale golden pour with white foam. Really grapefruit rind and grass driven. Some floral, potpourri notes, too. Lots of cracker. This is bone friggin dry. High bitterness as well. Lots of pine, grass, and grapefruit rind. Dry, cracker malt character. Alright. Was hoping for more.

Bottom of the can stamped "April 01, 2014." I’m assuming "born on." This is only the second Central City beer I’ve ever been able to pull off. I poured this into a pint glass. The appearance had a semi-hazy golden orange color with a decent transparency about it. Light bubbles are seen rising to fill a one finger bubbly along the side foamy in the center white head. She dissipates at a nice pace leaving a fairly clingy lacing here and there. The smell had a light floral to light spicy and even a light grassy connotation comes into play to combine fairly nicely. The taste was basically the same with a decent sweet malt to pick up a crisp but balanced feel running over my taste buds.. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body and yes, this is sessionable. The carbonation was actually a bit kinder on the palate as I didn’t get what I expected of an IPA’s harshness but still created a fairly decent smooth effect that did compound a certain stickiness. Overall, well, its a session IPA. I’m thinking Central City did everything they wanted to do with this one and I’m thinking I would have this again as its a flavorful "I.S.A." as indicated on the can.

12oz can. "Red Betty ISA". Clear amber color with ivory head. Floral, spicy, citrusy aromas. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Medium bitter floral, spicy hop flavors with tropical fruits, on a biscuit malt base brew____tasty.

Almost clear golden with a white head. Lovely hoppy aroma dominated by tropical fruits and citrus. Lightly sweet with lovely hops and a light malty background. Light to medium body with average carbonation. Another lovely low alcohol hoppy beer

Pours a clear yellow with a bit of red tint to it. Small white carbonated head. Grapefruit citrus hop nose, there is also some mango and tangerine. Sweet fruit taste with a small hop finish. Medium body Quite good and refreshing.

355ml can. Smells great, but tastes like oily, resiny Mosaic hops and meaty malt. Not a fan at all. I’ll happily stick with their regular IPA instead.

The grapefruit came through strongest for me. Not overly bitter. Citrus fruit. Nice session ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
