COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mosaic hops lend to this light and fruity ale with a good bitterness and malt balance, coupled with refreshing hop aromatics. This session ale is bit on flavour and light in alcohol.

Canada pale ale malt, Munich malt, Caravienne malt, Mosaic hops; ABV 4%; IBU 40; SRM 8

On February 4th, 2014 we launched our new ISA – India Session Ale at a “mystery beer” launch event. The event was held at Darby’s Pub in Vancouver and featured an expert panel consisting of Certified Cicerone and Beer Educator Chester Cary, author of Craft Beer Revolution Joe Wiebe, and Dustan Sept of Norco Bicycles & BeerMeBC.com. Along with a room full of Central City fans the lads blind tasted the latest Red Racer release. To find out what they thought check out the video on our brand new RedRacerBeer.com!

Editor’s note: Alcohol on the cans says 4%, but reports from the brewpub tend to have a lower number.

Pours light amber, little head. Smell is apricot, tangerine, cut grass. Taste is a peculiar blend of hops mixed with malt sweetness. Too sweet. Floral, herbal taste. Bit too medicinal of a taste for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Rating #6616)

My go to summer day drinking beer down at the lake. Real light but noticeable hops and citrus flavour. Best light IPA imo. Only 4%

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2015 Visual: Pours clear pale light orange with a small head, mostly sticky lacing, very thin micro retention, lots of fast streams, suspended micro sediment. Nose: fruity clean grapefruit-mandarin orange-peach, background malt. (lvl-7)-pungency Attack: crisp-half creamy/tingly-very thin mouthfeel Mid-palate: (lvl-3)-sweetness, (MAIN) grapefruit, barley malt Finish: flavour cuts short, soft hopped finish. Summary: Definitely not your full-bodied ale; crisp and drinkable, but not much length for the flavour. [December 5, 2015 re-tasting] Nose: perfume-like fruity tangerine citrus oils (lvl-6)-pungency Attack: slick-crisp Mid-palate: creamy mouthfeel, (lvl-4)-sweetness, (MAIN) tangerine, sweet barley malt Finish: malty, soft grapefruit bitter hopped finish. Summary: I’m liking the citrus aromas this time around, but still not full-bodied enough to be called great.

Pours an orangey-gold color with a copious foamy, white head. Nose is sweet malt and fragrant like tropical fruits. Taste is well-balanced with nice sweet maltiness and a good complement of citrus bitterness. Very nice brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My Bottom Line:
Citrus and conifers are muddled by oily soft caramel candies in this serviceable but forgettable brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the misty dark gold.
-The oily aroma is not quite butterscotchy, but there is a ghee-like component in there. As though there is an early stage of diacetyl.
-This is very much in the St.Ambroise mold for me.
-Hops could be much brighter throughout.

Cans.

Bright gold beer with a thick frothy light beige head. Hoppy nose of citrus pith, pine resin, and soap. Flavor is more of the same with fruity flavors such as mandarin orange, peach, and tangerine all counterbalancing a resinous bitter aftertaste. Decent beer.
