Tap at the 2014 OBF. Pours clear copper with an off-white head. Aroma of lots of malt and hops. Full bodied. Flavor is lots of malt and lots of hops. Guessing floral and fruit hop. Very strong flavors. Finishes malty and bitter. Balanced? Tasty!

On draught at 27th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival. Dark golden color. Aroma is dank pine resin. Taste is caramel and pine, with some tart and bitter citrus notes. A little too bitter and dank for me.

Can, at Chuck’s place. Nice beer, great balance, caramel sweetness, rye backbone, hint of spice, and pine hop bitterness. All works well together.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep amber color, foamy and creamy off white head. Smells of caramel, nuts, toast, pine, citrus, and clove. Taste is sweet, malty with caramel, fading into a floral hop bitterness with an astringent finish. On the palate it is full bodied, creamy, and softly carbonated. Very good.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Riche et résineux, très fort sur les agrumes et la caramélisation des malts. J’ai vraiment plus l’impression de boire un barleywine américain frais.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
One of those kingly quaffs that graces you ever so rarely. Clear copper with an off white crown, this king waltzes into the room permeating pine, floral hops and caramel malt. Like a big juicy, tropical, piney Werther’s ripe for the suckling. A superb balance of ingredients make this booze-hiding royal wayyyyyy to faboo to drink.

It was ok, pours reddish, found it to be a malty IPA, aroma of malty IPA. Underwhelmed.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle, as Red Betty IPA. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma is broiled grapefruit, orange, bread, leafy resin, a bit of tropical fruit. Taste is broiled orange and grapefruit, bread, slight caramel, pine, dusty, peppery, slight lemon pastry. Light-med bitterness. Creamy, medium body, slight resin. I love this IPA, it reminds me of when I lived in Vancouver.
