3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours hazy golden-orange with a small off-whtie head, some retention and lacing. dank fruits, mangoes, oranges, candied oranges, citrus, pink grapefruit with a pinch of sugar - quite juicy in fact, lightly tart little yellow fruits, doughy and cushiony pale yet lightly toasted malts, some caramel, spicy malts and hops too, gently earthy/piney, touch of spicy cake. moderate sweetness - honey with a hint of maple. boozy but not overly. bitter, yet not overly. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily and sticky, short yet assertive grassy-spicy-juicy-citrusy finish. good.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can: Poured an amber colour ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of hops is pretty intense with bitter and citrus notes clearly identified. Taste is a great mix between some citrus and bitter hops with a good caramel malt backbone. One of the best of it’s style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is citrus and grapefruit hoppiness. Taste is quite hoppy...getting some earthy notes pairing with with the citrus hops. Malt character masked in hopiness but some sweet malt flavors are there. Appearance is clear gold with thin lace head with good retention.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber, 2ish months old unfortunately but form the fridge. Pours a reddish amber wiht a ncie soapy head. Smells exactly like sculpin. Flavor is a bit different. Real juicy, not super sweet, not hugely bitter. Woudl have loved to try this fresher but at this point still an immense and great west coaster.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 Bomber. Unclear copper orange, medium foamy off-white head settles and fades. Pungent fruity pine citrus hop aroma. This one packs a punch; intense resinous citrus pine hop taste, deep malts, some caramel/toffee, grapefruit, floral and herbal notes. Average carbonation, full bodied, aggressively hopped. Have rated a few lesser Impy’s recently, this one re-establishes the bar. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Copper hued amber, thin to moderate frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Super strong pine and pith on the nose.   Similar on the tongue, a bit out of balance.   Seems to be strong pine and pith, very mild sweetness.   A bit rough and green, certainly a bruiser of a beer.   Almost syrupy.   Pith and pine hoppiness, not too floral or citrusy, nor sweet in that sense.   Sweet pine maybe?   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Rough finish.   Meh...

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a four finger off-white head that slowly fades leaving a very good lace. Crystal clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Pine hop nose and flavor is nice balance of pine hops and sweet fruit, higher ABV is hidden. Decent IIPA. $10.20 for a 22oz bottle from a Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, ME. Bottle label is Red Betty IIPA but the ABV is still 9.0% so I think this is the same as Red Racer IIPA.
