3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

Being told this was "City Red IPA" at Green Dot Stables in Detroit, Michigan, I got it on-tap. Seeing as how this is all that comes up when I type that in, I have to assume this is the beer. And considering its high ratings... I think it’s a safe assumption.
Appearance: A deep red color with no head ... no lacing to speak of either. Rather "blah" and unexciting.
Smell: Hops, but there’s more to it than that... you can definitely tell it’s a red, because there’s plenty of malt notes in there. A lot of piney aromas dominate. My friends weren’t too happy when I talked ... they thought it smelled awful. It probably did on my breath. :(
Taste/feel: Outstanding, to say the least... it truly is. There’s a pretty massive bitterness, but the mouthfeel is smooth and the finish is pretty sweet. If you want some hops, this’ll do it for you. A lot of the grassy and piney notes without much citrus, so go with this if you want a beer along those lines. Incredibly balanced, insanely drinkable, fantastic tasting. I absolutely love the red characteristics with the hops in this one ... a lot of times it’s out of whack, but this is very nicely done.

clear amber pour big head good retention. Aroma of peachy grass resin. Tastes very vegetal hops, biting into plant matter, but not over bitter. Typical resiny residue on the tongue. Good ipa.

On tap at Beer Revolution. 6.5%. How have I not had this IPA yet, everyone I hear from raves about this Canadian beauty. Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with hoppy overtones, grapefruit, tangerine, and mild toasted malt. Taste is more of the same, dry hops and roast malts dominating the flavour, with a wondrous cornucopia of citrusy sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious. Best Canadian-made IPA I’ve ever tasted

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
How is it taken me this long to rate this???? Fuck YA on tap at the underground. Mild haze in the honey brown body with a pillowy cap floating on top. Hops upfrount in the nose with a lingering soap. Beer is to cold. Taste has a pefect bitter, stays highly drinkable no matter how much you have. Citrus, spice, mild leather, sweetness lingers. Beer does not have a single fault. I think I like the canned version better.

Can - 355ml. Amber body with an average carbonation and a thin off-white frothy head. Nice hoppy aroma with grapefruit/melon hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries citrusy and some woody notes. Ends with a long, robust bitter finish. Very good example of IPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can (355 ml). From Kevin, thanks Sir! Clear golden/amber with a huge mostly lasting frothy off-white head and intense lacing. Aroma of citrus, caramel, pine, light floral notes and hints of alcohol. Taste is slightly to moderately sweet with caramel, citrus, pine, alcohol, floral notes and a moderate but sticky bitter finish. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Slightly dry and slightly oily. Good drinkability. A tad too harsh. Average IPA.

Can. Very strong and appealing citrus aroma. Flavour is pretty standard IPA, but well-balanced. Heavy bitter, nice citrus. Overall a solid IPA.

Amber orange pour with white head. Hop profile is citrus and pine, with great balance. Great BC IPA.
