An ale fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops, this ale has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. Drink as an appetizer on its own, or pair it with any hearty dish. A beer for the connoisseur, this is the Brewmaster’s choice. "Cheers!"

Malts: UK Maris Otter, Superior Pale Ale Malt, Carastan Crystal Malt
Hops: German Magnum, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe

Bottle share at Leighton’s, many thanks to Strokey. 355ml can, 6.5% March 2015. Hazy orange, lightly sparkling, decent foamy white head, light lacing. Aroma is mostly Turkish delight and rose with toffee and tangerine. Centennial I’m guessing. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is resinous, dry, astringent floral, orange pith, bitter finish and a little metallic. Good.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s Stratoflat. Can, thanks to Paul. Lightly hazy gold beer, small off white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Light malts, touch of sweetness. Hops start with smooth pine followed by light hop skunk and a little citrus. Bitterness blossoms strongly in the finish, getting a metallic tang. Not bad, finish a bit awkward.

Can shared at Leightons. It pours clear orange with a small white head. The nose is sweet, juicy orange, apricot, peach, nectarine, earth, brioche, orange muffin and bready malt. The taste is crisp, rather bitter, orange rind, toasty grass, dank grassy vibe, spice, grapefruit and varnish with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Crisp and tasty. Good bitterness. Very drinkable.

Can shared in London - thanks to Paul. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Nice piney hops in the nose, peach, orange rind. Medium sweet flavor with some perfume, pale bread, crackers, oily pine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Resinous finish, lightly warming, with more crackery pale malts, pine, orange. Not bad.

Robe ambrée limpide, timide col de mousse. Arômes de houblons très amers. Pamplemousse surtout, zeste d’orange.

12oz can to cervoise. Pours clear amber, frothy beige head. Aroma of earth, citrus peel, pine wood and caramel malts. Taste is candied fruit, sugar, pine wood, dried fruit, caramel, roasted malts and some floral qualities. Very complex, lots to discover.

355 ml can. Pours a slightly hazy, medium orange with a medium, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Sweet, fruity aroma of grapefruit, peach and caramel malt with a hint of pine. Sweet fruity flavour of grapefruit, peach, mango, grass and a hint of caramel malt with a very dry, bitter, hoppy, resin finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A very pleasant surprise.

Can. Pours clear dark amber with a big creamy to frothy fully lasting white head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is pine, faint caramel and grass. Medium body, medium to heavy bitter, medium sweet but faint malt flavors (could be my cold), average carbo and a very long, very bitter finish.

Draught @ Bier Markt Ottawa. Pours hazy ambet with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and hops, with citric and fruity notes. Bittet, hoppy flavour with notes of needles and touches of malt and yeast. Fruity hints. Bitterish aftertaste with hints of yeast. Drinkable and refreshing but not top notch.
