COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An ale fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops, this ale has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. Drink as an appetizer on its own, or pair it with any hearty dish. A beer for the connoisseur, this is the Brewmaster’s choice. "Cheers!"

Can from the LCBO. Pours a clear deep copper with a small white head that quickly fades and leaves just a bit of lace, Nose is lots of pine and grapefruit with some earthiness. First sip produces some light sweetness with a good level of bitterness to follow it up but then a huge dose of skunkiness and burnt toast appears at the back end. I don’t recall this from previous cans so this may just be a bad one. Will have to rerate this in the future. Went right into the sink. Different can from a different LCBO. Pours a deep clear copper with a huge off white head that fades slowly and leaves great lace. Nose is pine and grass with hints of caramel. Slightly sweet start before the hops kick in and produce a nice bitterness with grapefruit, pineapple and some light spice. MUCH better than the previous can. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation.

Unclear orange of color with a foamy off white head. An aroma of grapefruit, citrus, sweets, citruspeel and caramel. A flavor of grapefruit, dusty and grainy.

Poured slow from a tall can. Thanks cards04. Who’d thought this would be one of my favorite IPA’s? Nice orange hue with a thin but pungent off-white head. A good combination of caramel and citrus. Hop bitterness is flavorful and adds complexity. Finish reminds you how good this is long after the swallow. Need more!

16 oz can from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours clear caramel-amber with a moderate off-white head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has huge hoppy notes of citrus and resin, along with flowers, tropical fruit and caramel. The flavour is balanced between a moderate citrus-resin bitterness on the one hand, combined with a tropical fruity, honey-caramel sweetness on the other. Tropical fruity notes increase as it lingers on the palate. The finish is long and hoppy, with resin and citrus peel dominating the tropical fruit. On the palate it is medium in body with a milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, a very nice IPA with a fairly complex hop profile. 2014-06-22

Can bought at the LCBO in Toronto/Canada. Aroma of malt, scrambled eggs, some spices. Color is clear brown shiny with a soapy head that vanished quickly but kept a skinny coverage. Taste is malt malt malt and instant bitter floral hops with a long bitter finish. Alcohol hidden. Overall a mind blowing IPA in its category!

Pours clear orange gold, thick, sticky white head. Fair bit of lacing. Tropical fruit aroma, bit of pine. Taste is mainly the same tropical fruit, bit of malt at the end. Decently bitter. medium heavy body, can be a bit thick but has good carbonation to break it up.

Reviewed from notes. This was always poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice hazy golden yellow to orange color with a good one finger white foamy head that ended up allowing a nice speckled white sticky lacing. The smell had a nice blend of citrus sweet yet spicy and sometimes bitter hops. Light malts do end up showing their face just a bit as it warms. The taste takes those flavors and just pretty much blends them pretty good. On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium and shows a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation seems to be appropriate for the style and for me as there’s a good harshness invading my tongue. Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA well worthy of having again.
