An ale fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops, this ale has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. Drink as an appetizer on its own, or pair it with any hearty dish. A beer for the connoisseur, this is the Brewmaster’s choice. "Cheers!"

Malts: UK Maris Otter, Superior Pale Ale Malt, Carastan Crystal Malt
Hops: German Magnum, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe
Colour/Clarity: Amber to Orange, Bright. SRM: 14

Slightly orange clear pour with a ton of head. Head is fading slowly. Scent is fully of IPA hops, tons of that grassy tart scent. Wet and fresh at first and then like a shot in dark, there’s that bite. The IPA bite I am not a fan of but that IPA fans seem to love, so I have to guess this is a good IPA, but not the best beer for me. Still drinkable and I can enjoy it but it’s just not my style.

Airy head that leaves tons of lacing. Dark copper color. Light resin aroma that could use a little more detail. Very interesting taste of brown sugar and molasses balanced by hop bitterness.

On tap @ Alibi Room, Vancouver, B.C. Amazing hop aroma bursting with grapefuit and pine. Grapefruit, orange, and pine hop flavours well balanced against caramel malts.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with an off white head. Aromas of floral and bright citrus hops, pine, gentle malt, also pepper notes. Good body, with a fine carbonation, notes of bitter and salty, umami, sweet, with a resin mouthfeel. From a can. New respect for canned beer. Excellent ipa.

Can from Whole Foods Market, Bowery, New York, NY. A dark orange/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, orange, grapefruit aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, orange, grapefruit, bitter/sweet. Must be the best canned beer that I’ve had. Complex and seriously good stuff from Central City Brewing.

Pour is a hazy reddish with a small white head. Aroma is spicy hops with some earthy but sweet malts. Flavor is decent strong almost dark fruit malt. Some raison is detected. Hops are there but take a back seat to the rich malty backbone. This was decent. Not a real hop bomb but more of an English IPA.

Pours a hazy orange with a thick fluffy white head. Aroma is hop forward with grapefruit, peach, floral, and spice. Taste of mainly citrus hops, with some tropical and floral in the background. Hints of sweet malts mix with the bitter hops. Medium body, bitter with a dry finish, and some white particles in it. Overall decent.

Can poured a hazy orange w/ small particles and a large creamy white head w/ thick sticky lacing. Big sweet hop aromas. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ bold bitter finish of moderate duration. Tastes are orange, grapefruit, hay, grass and tea. Full bodied, lively carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This was a pretty darn tasty IPA. Fresh and floral and hoppy, these Canadians know how to make a SoCal IPA proud.

12 oz. can. It pours a very clear, deep golden color with a large off white head with lace. The aroma is powerfully hoppy with nice spicy, floral and milder peach notes. The flavor is the same. Lots of floral and spicy hops with background tropical fruit and a hefty dose of carmel malts. The grapefruit hops definitely control this one though. Very clean with a dry finish.

Can from the LCBO. For my last day in Montreal I decided to have this. Wow the aroma really lives up to this beer’s reputation with a wonderful hop aroma that assaults your nose. A deep copper color. It has a thick viscous mouthfeel. The taste is a clean sharp bitter pine with a solid malt backbone. Good stuff.
