COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An ale fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops, this ale has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. Drink as an appetizer on its own, or pair it with any hearty dish. A beer for the connoisseur, this is the Brewmaster’s choice. "Cheers!"

floral, spruce, citrusy, pale, light body, very bitter, medium sourness, lively, long finish. This is a really great IPA. The best one I’ve had in BC. It is reminiscent of Surly Furious of Minneapolis, MN.

355ml can. Honey-coloured liquid gold. Blast of floral and grassy hop smell when you open the can. Citrussy notes with all of the hoppy bitterness you expect and want from a northwest IPA. The bitterness is nicely countered by heavier caramel/bready malts. Medium-bodied with minor carbonation, finishes crisp with final hop notes of resin and pine. An incredible IPA made more amazing by its humble packaging and ready availability in almost all B.C. liquor stores.

Pours a rich golden with an off white head. Powerful aroma of grapefruit, orange, lemon, and spices. Much of this can be found in the very potent taste. Noticeable is a bit of a peppery flavor as well. Plenty of a hop kick, while the aftertaste is minimal. But that is ok, because the rest of the beer is great. I bought this randomly, and I really couldn't have guessed any better on this one.

Can. Pours a gorgeous copper with a thick white head and major lacing. Aroma is a complete pine bomb with some citrus notes in the background. Taste is nice and bitter with some thick malt backbone. The palate on this seems much more like an imperial IPA rather than just a 6.5% IPA. The finish is nice and dry with a little hoppiness lingering on the tongue. Killer.

Originally reviewed: 7/26/10.Awesome 4-pack of cans received from masterhomebrewer (BA) recently. Thanks, Dave! I’ve been wanting to try this one for awhile. 12oz can poured into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy dark orange with a creamy off-white head resting on top. Pretty fair retention; leaves lots of sticky lace and sip rings on the glass. The nose is a little underwhelming. Some faint citrus, mild floral tones, and some grassy notes. Great body on this one. Plenty of carbonation, but smooths out on the finish. Crisp hoppy bitterness right away. Starts out a bit spicy and peppery, but as I continue to sip, the harshness mellows to a semi-sweet citrus. Aftertaste is a bit bready and warm. Alcohol presence not really felt. This was a splendid IPA. Spot on for my liking. Great job, CC! Recommend.

[on tap at the Alibi Room] Excellent fresh grapefruit hops aroma with a little candy sugar, and apricot and pear notes. Clear copper with a lasting, white cover and lace. Creamy grapefruit and pine flavour in front of an assertive bitterness that balances the beer’s pleasant sweet toffee/caramel. Apricot and faint celery accents. Medium body, medium carbonation, moderately bitter finish.

Pours hazy amber with an off white head. Aroma is citrus, pine and caramel. Taste is sweet with a nice resiny bitterness. Crisp and drying finish.

Trade from curly - thanks! Reddish orange, big foamy white head. Smells like caramel and piney hops. Flavor is pine and caramel as well. Pretty typical IPA all around, but still tasty and very drinkable.

Hazed gold/orange, beige head. Aroma of old hops, damn, lots of dark fruit as well. Taste of citrus, pine, alcohol, fruit. Bitter finish. I need to get a fresh batch of this.

This has to be my favorite IPA. It’s the finish that sets this one apart: the hop flavor just pops as it lingers and evolves and eventually fades. Beautiful!
