COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Red Racer Classic Pale Ale is hand-crafted in small batches using Mariss Otter barley from England and hops from Washington’s Yakima valley. This big and bold pale ale has a citrusy aroma and a full, malty body, giving it a distinctive character that will inspire the beer connoisseur in all of us. A good choice paired with any favorite meal.

Pours a crystal clear golden yellow with a thin but lasting head. Aroma is sweet and smells strongly of honey. Tastes of honey, clover, fresh herbal hops. Good carbonation, creamy body. Quaffable and fresh, a good session ale.

On draught as Signal Light Pale Ale at the Central City Brewpub in Surry, BC. Pours a clear golden pale brew with an average white head that leaves behind some good lacing. Aroma of bread dough, a hint of caramel malt, some citrus zest and maybe some yeast. Taste is light bodied, average carbonation with flavors of white bread dough, a hint of citrus and a touch of caramel. Finish has a semi-dry aftertaste of citrus and some light malt. One of the lightest pale ales and low hop character I’ve tried.

This is an excellent pale ale, especially for a canned beer. Pleasant hops and citrusy taste without too much carbonation.

Golden color. Light but nice hop aroma. It has a pleasant caramel and hop flavor, not complex but drinkable. Strong bitterness.

I had this one twice in a week - once in a sampler pack of cans and once on draft at the brewery. Well-hopped and tasty. Not my favourite of the Central City Stable, but well worth a pint or two.

Can from Brewery Creek. Pale amber, clear and bright, huge foamy white head generating clingy lace. Fresh orange zest aroma. Sweet light malts and fresh citrusy hop character, medium bitterness. Very nice.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2007 Light amber colour and dead flat. It’s on cask, so it probably looks just fine in other formats. Toasty, woody anisey aroma. Balanced flavour - some great slightly pearlike estery notes along with well-extracted caramel malts and a subtle, earthy hop character. I could do a sixer of this.

Light copper colour. Aroma is mainly limey, with a hint of grapefruit. Body is a little thin. Flavour leans towards sweet lime. Slightly bitter - less hopped than the Red, but there’s a lot less malt so it shows a bit more. Finish is dry, light. Re-sampled showed this beer as clean, with better malt character. Still light, but I may have underestimated the craftsmanship previously.

Growler: Pours a copper with medium white fading head. Aroma is nice fruity hop over some sweet light maltiness. Flavour is solid malt body with a bold bitter almost dry-ish finish that lasts. Very nice.

(Draught) 6oz sample glass reviewed at the brewery. Its the SIGNAL LIGHT and not the LIGHT PALE ALE, okay? And its good for you... and it tastes swell. Medium, white foamy head with a sparkling light amber body. The head nicely webs to the glass. Nose is crisp and citrus with crystal malt. Sweaty salted. Very well hopped and toned with a mild lactic finish. Very good.

Not a fan of this style, citrusy aroma with some noticeable hop presence in the nose and body. Dry finish. Average beer.
