Can-o-pumpkin beer oh joy is this wonderful day. Brew appears to be burnt orange very clear with a limited cap. Pumpkin pie aroma with the normal clove spice, some dust and moldy orange. Aroma is thin slightly sour and lacking in any malt character and I think a pumpkin beer needs that in my opinion. The aroma is doing nothing for me. Taste is the same slight pumpkin pie, no malt limited spice and a very out of place citrus hop. Taste is thin and lacking substance. Noticed if I left the beer for a while a dark bitterness lingers for a very long time. Not a fan of this one. Got to say after reading a lot of the reviews (RB) there must be a lot of Homers out there because I’m noticing all the locals are giving this to high of marks for what it is. It falls way short of most other pumpkin ales I have sampled.

355ml can. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma is floral, soapy, pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavour of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and soapy. Mediocre palate and fresh tasting.

pours orangish-brown, medium head that quickly dissipates, small CO2 bubbles, sticky lacing. Some spice on the nose, very welcoming, however... 1st sip: some cinnamon, and nutmeg but quickly gets overpowered by this awful funk of a burnt bitter pumpkin. The nasty bitterness persists until finish and wipes out all the traces of initial spice. Not helping the cause is a thin-bodied watery mouthfeel. Low-medium depth, Low-medium complexity, medium length (but it’s an astringent lingering bitter finish). Cannot recommend, this will be the last time I try this, evar.

Orange colour, big surprise, with a nose full of ginger and nutmeg. Lots of same in the taste as well. Light pumpkin taste, with the smoothness you might expect. Overall, a decent drink, tasting more like a ginger beer than many in this style. For this rater, this is good.

I really have no idea what this love for pumpkin beer is all about. Here is yet another pumpkin liquid - who -before someone made a pumpkin beer and convinced beer nerds that this was a good thing - wants to drink liquid pumpkin? Has there ever been a pumpkin based beverage before? Exactly - because pumpkin is only good in pumpkin pie. The beer - wonderful deep clear amber that looks great with the spruce trees in my back yard reflected in the image. Another large foam up that is obviously bubbly and light tan in colour. After all that trash talk I have to admit that this does smell awesome. Nothing else needs to be said other than this smells like a very potent pumpkin pie with a slight citrus following. Here is where this brew faulters with me - taste. I’ve had much better pumpkin beers. This one is a bit dull which might be a good thing, everything seems dull with the pie spice weighing down most everything. Some citrus and a tart bite that I did not expect. There is no way that I would like the taste of this beer and I don’t.

Can, as part of the Winter Variety Pack. Deep orange, bright and clear, medium off white head. Sweet caramel, pumpkin, and allspice aroma. Flavours are much the same, pumpkin nicely present, spices are in balance without overpowering. Fairly sweet, but nicely malty.

Pours a clear amber, thin head. Aroma of cinammon and some other spices I can’t identify. Sweet cinammon, spicy flavour. Is this good or bad? Style is just not my bag. Don’t see how anyone could sit around and drink 3 or 4 of these in a row.

Okay clear amber body with some average head on top that disappears quickly. Aroma of grass and coriander. Taste is smooth with hints of possibly pumpkin but really just some indistinct spicy vegetable notes. Dry finish. Decent and drinkable, in the middle of the pack somewhere.
