COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Irish style stout is deep, dark, smooth and creamy. The use of oatmeal in the mashtun adds “silkiness” to the texture and body of this ale. Excellent paired with oysters, prime rib and your weekend brunch. Formerly known as Steelhead Stout.

Drinking now cuz it was in sale and we are tired from hiking out from Moul Falls in Wells Gray on a cloudless moonless night, feet soaked from standing in the middle of a creek with snowshoes on. Dark brown and a small bubbly head was all that the can would allow. Oatmeal, biscuit, some sweetness, cherry, light roast. Taste is so so. Light to faint bitterness. Weak roast, oatmeal, light choco. Dry. It’s ok and boring yet totally safe.

[6298-20140502] Can. Fruity date roast aroma. Brown black body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Roasted grainy wood date flavour. Full body. Average. (7/4/6/3/12) 3.2

Pours a dark, nearly opaque brown. Frothy tan head, decent retention. Aroma is such dark chocolate, oats, and cereal. Taste is bitter, slightly earthy, with a hint of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. Finishes long and bitter, was a lot thinner than I was expecting of an oatmeal stout. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

65 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada via Coop. Dark brown, thick head. Chocolate and a faint coffee aroma. Medium body, more chocolate, and some bright hops coming through on the finish.

Pours a a dark brown with large head, leaves good lacing. Tastes of roasted malts and dark chocolate with black coffee. Has a bitter finish. Not as "thick" as I would have expected, might as well have a Guinness.

A dry irish stout more or less indistinguishable from Guiness. Nothing wrong with it, but not much right with it either. Just a hohum dry stout. Very nice nose to it though.

Light coffee aroma. Looks nice in the glass. Standard coffee and chocolate flavours. A bit thin on the malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nothing wrong with it but there are far too many superior stouts available to bother with this one again.

Black pour with foamy large beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and slight coffee. Taste of burnt roasted malts, cocoa powder and faint coffee. Medium bodied, thin mouthfeel, medium carbonation and a dry bitter finish. Average at best.

650mL bottle. Pours a dark brown and a generous tan cap settling to a bubble island and sticky lacing. Aroma of metal, chocolate, mud, coffee, biscuit. Taste is sweet and bitter. Fizzy and creamy mouthfeel. Dry finish upfront that thins out drastically.

[Can (355ml) shared with GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m] Pours a very dark brown with red hues and an average size frothy tan head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, lots of leafy hops and notes of coffee and chocolate. Quite dry. Average bodied. A fine Stout.
