27 apr 2016, bottle. Dark brown. When cold I actually get some sriracha on the nose, in addition to nutty, faintly sweet, alcohol. Even as it warms up I still get hints of sriracha. Maybe alcohol soaked raisins. Med body and mildly fizzy. Very meaty, moderately woody, bitter wood, mildly sweet, some tobacco notes in the finish. This is a nice beer. It isnít special but itís certainly impressive and interesting in places.

Outstanding. Taste the bourbon barrel. Feel the alcohol. Many layers of flavor. This is a sippiní beer, not for quaffing.

Draught at Red Racer. Slightly hazy, not much head. Has a medium amber colour. Has a nice balanced aroma of bourbony vanilla and rich th malts. Fruity, raisins, sweet and boozy, some wood influence, and a rich fruity maltiness. Definitely one of the better ba bwís around.

22 oz. bottle. It pours dark orange/red color with an orange head. The aroma has some rich maltiness, vanilla, caramel, alcohol, cherry and fig. Lots of dried fruit and bourbon. The flavor is full with caramel and dried fruit. Prunes, raisins, figs with a strong, earthy bitterness. Alcohol is noticeable, with a rather syrupy body. Very fruit forward. I couldíve used less bitterness and a less syrupy body, but pretty decent for the style overall.

2013 bottle. Pours a caramel ruby with a half finger of off white head. Aroma has great notes of caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon barrel, dark fruits, and faint touch of tartness. Taste is a bit sweet with caramel, strong bourbon barrel, dark fruits, a bit of a tart fruit. Medium-full body with a medium-high carbonation. A bit syrupy in the mouth with a lively carbonation. Overall a pretty nice beer. Dart fruits with caramel, bourbon barrel and not a hint of alcohol.

Visual: Pours cloudy reddish brown with no head and a few bubbles surfacing, super thin micro bubble ringed retention, suspended micro sediment. Nose: caramel oaked sweet barley malt, raisin. (lvl-6)-pungency Attack: thick viscosity, crisp-oily Mid-palate: alcohol heaviness, (lvl-8)-sweetness, (MAIN) bourbon, biscuity caramel-toffee malt, plum-prune dark fruity Finish: sweet bourbon oaked maltiness, subtle bitter, soft alcohol warmth, walnut exhale. Summary: Incredibly smooth for a 11.5%íer, lots of bold flavour with a decent slick-crisp mouthfeel. A tad cloying halfway through, especially at the finish. An all-around solid brew; I have yet to try the non-barrel aged version, looking forward to it.

Rating #1416 25.12.2014 - 341mL Bottle #22 in the CC/P49 Mystery Box. Aroma is caramel, toffee, alcohol, bourbon. Pours a rich amber, barely there white head. Medium carbonation, heavy alcohol warmth. Not unbalanced though, this truly has a depth of character - would love to let this mellow for a year or 3. Hot at the moment, but full of vanilla, char, toffee notes that are very tasty.

Dark maroon body, bubbly head, quickly fades, some soapy lacing. Dried fruit, bourbon, corn, vanilla aroma. Taste is rich sweet, malty, no bitterness, a touch of dry boozy fruit. Silky palate. Nice beer.
