COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditi0nally cloudy, this Belgian style "White Ale" is brewed with coriander seed and dried orange peel, producing a beer light in body with a refreshing citrus and spicy aroma. Because this ale is unfiltered it is best enjoyed when chilled and poured into a glass.

I haven’t had too many different Belgian whites. Hoegaarden is still the standard in my book. I was hoping this might be something truly unique. It’s just too mellow. For advertising coriander and orange peel it just doesn’t deliver either very well. The APA and IPA’s are just so much better. It’s unfiltered? It could be so much more.

355ml can. Pours golden-yellow, hazy. Head fades fast and leaves not trace. Nose is sweet with some lemon and cloves. Flavour has wheat malts, lemons, orange peels. Trace of finishing bitterness that is somewhat leafy. Light body, medium to strong carbonation. Pretty basic, but not that bad.

Cloudy pale blond color. Strange wheat, it has a light herbal character, both aroma and flavor. Simple.

I’ve got no complaints about this one. Great refreshing beer. Immediate notes of orange peel, maybe hint of lemon. Carbonation just right to make it go down easy. Back end hit of bitterness. Overall solid beer.

Can, from Cole a while back. Thanks man! Pours murky yellow, 1-finger snow white head, short-lived, very poor lacing. Also brown chunks, there is a significant number of brown, chunky, "floaties" in the beer as well. Doesn’t look terribly appetizing, but that’s neither here nor there. Nose is identifiably Witbier, with the typical sherbet lemons, creamy wheat, soft, almost perfumed little citrus hints, some florals here too, no hop notes whatsoever. Very pretty nose. Flavour is not as standout as the nose, sweet lemon and wheat as expected, as well as a mouthfeel that is generally fine, but a real "wet cardboard" character at the back of the mouth, and into the finish which I don’t groove on at all. A touch undercarbonated, with a touch of soapiness as well. Overall: A slightly undercarbonated, middle-of-the-road Wit that smells significantly better than it tastes. Nothing wrong here, I would like to try this on tap sometime, and see if the carbonation isn’t better.

355ml can. Hazy yellow with golden aspirations and a frothy white head that leaves a hint of lace. Quite orangey on the nose with a faint hint of corriander and raw wheat. A little strange on the palate; there’s a serious off note in there and the taste is sort of all over the place. There’s a car tire on a hot day taste in there that I seem to get from all marginal (or worse) wits. Certainly not the best in the Red Racer line up.

On tap at Central City Brew Pub. Pours cloudy yellow/gold. Aroma of citrus, lemon, wheat, and a light scent of coriander. Flavour mainly of citrus fruit, and a little spice from the coriander. Quite thin on the palate - not too complex, but still goes down nicely.

Very nice foggy gold body with plenty of reasonably solid head on top. Soft citrus aroma. Flavour is smooth wit with some odd perfume and lots of critusy notes. Very drinkable, a nice white for sure.

Can consumed in Revelstoke, British Columbia on 09/06/2010. Colour: Hard to tell because drunken right out of the can....looked clear and white with mild yellow traces. Nose: flour, orange peel, mango and vanilla. Taste: Medium sweet, light bitter, light sour. Herbs, hint of coconut, more vanilla. Pretty mild for a white ale and missing the spice that was promised.
