3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells like toffee and caramel. Very enticing. Pours a cloudy red-brown color with little head. Very dry taste with some sweetness and a linger tart-bitterness. Flavors of raisins and caramel are quickly dominated by flavors of oak, bourbon, and vanilla. Quite a unique beer. I bet this cellars well.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle, thanks to Bacterial. Pours dark brown with perfect khaki head. Aroma of raisins, molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon. Caramelized brown sugar, verging on cotton candy. Taste: raisins, plums, lightly bitter, dry finish. Lingering roast/char in the finish. Some lingering wheat notes in the aftertaste as well. Medium/full body, slick-oily texture. Bitter finish becomes increasingly harsh as the drink continues on. Overall: unique, tasty-ish, though a far cry from the taste bud orgasm referred to in the commercial description. Brewers, please don’t tease me with the promise of a mouth orgasm and then not deliver.

Taste is sweet, fruity, plums, roasted malt, bourbon, boozy. Palate is med-full body, light carb. A bit heavy but good.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ Nieuwjaarsborrel 2014, courtesy of jmgreenuk. Pours a dark brown, clear beeer with a medium sized, off white head on top. Aroma of bourbon, caramel, vanilla and big barrel characters. Flavor is very sweet with big barrel characteristics going on. The sweetness is overwhelming, yet balancing. Very long, medium sweet and watery finish. Very nice, beer, don’t think this should be a BSA though.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a dark brown amber with little head. The aroma first walloped of bourbon, but then Belgian yeast, oak, and vanilla shone through. Definitely bourbon up front on taste as well. As it warmed I got brown sugar, dark malts, maple and more vanilla. Medium mouthfeel for such a big boozy beer. Great stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out loads of bourbon, a touch of Belgian yeast, and caramel. Flavour reveals a huge bourbon bomb, with loads of bourbon and wood, drowning out any Belgian qualities. This is a big fat bourbon bomb through and through, with moderate booziness. Great stuff.
