Pours dark brown. Looks a bit murky but it could just be the color. Light beige head. Small bubbles. Dissipating head. Lots of brown sugar, roast and chocolate in the nose. Well blended bourbon character. Lots more good barrel character in the taste. Starts sweet but dries out well as the wood comes in. Solid roast and chocolate flavors. Smooth mouthfeel. Very good beer.

Fourteen and Fifteen tried side by side, thanks to a generous local beer pal- thanks again, Chris! Both pour a deep, cloudy brown with amber highlights; The Fifteen displays more of a head. Both have a little dustiness/mustiness in the aroma on top of sweet and roasty malts, caramel, bourbon, coconut, marshmallow, vanilla, and oak. The flavor has notes of caramel, bourbon, nuts, vanilla, roast, oak, and coconut. The Fifteen is lighter in body and drier on the palate; both have modest carbonation. Good barrel imperial stout. 15: 9 4 8 3 16; 14: 8 4 8 4 16.

Last time I tried this it was a bourbon bomb. Glad to see it's aged well, developing more roasty qualities over the months. Still suffers from Central Waters Syndrome (aka lack of body). Tasty.

What a surprisingly great BA Imp stout. This pours ink black with nice brown head. Aroma is huge vanilla bourbon, chocolate and ash. Taste is amazingly toasty smooth and rich with great flavors. Awesome.

22oz bottle, split with ablackshear. Pours a jet black color with a thin tan head. Aroma roasty, chocolate, bourbon. Medium to heavy on the palate with light, sharp carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, roasty, chocolate, oak, vanilla, bourbon, coffee. Very complex. Very tasty. Well deserving of its medal at GABF.

Pours a jet black with a nice brown head. Nose and taste is of faded bourbon, leather, tobacco, coffee, and chocolate. A good beer, but not a game changer.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours dark brown (nearly black) with a small, fleeting, khaki head. The bouquet is a luxuriant mélange of vanilla, fudge, dark chocolate and pouch tobacco. Full-bodied and velvety with lazy carbonation. The semi-sweet flavor furnishes coconut, dark chocolate, toasted oak, vanilla and caramel. Finishes boozy, but not belligerent. Many thanks to newcigarz for sharing this world class treat!

GTMW. Poured near black with a spotty beige head. The aroma picked up a lot of warm bourbon over deep, roasty chocolate and toffee malts.. a bit of smoked malt in there too.. very good balance. The flavor found roasty black and lesser chocolate malts at the core.. heavy, tangy bourbon and oak throughout.. sweet, sticky bourbon over muddled black malts on the belly-warming finish. Chewy and creamy on the palate with just enough carbonation to keep it moving.. the tangy barrel cut through the sweetness perfectly.. great brew!

Pours a pitch black and tastes like you are licking the inside of a barrel. Absolutely superb.
