4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Jimmeekrek (52) - - SEP 21, 2012
Pours a thick, dark brown with almost no head. Aroma is heavy on bourbon, malt, chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Taste follows aroma, and lives up to some unreal expectations on my part. Great job, as always, by CW.

Pours a pitch black and tastes like you are licking the inside of a barrel. Absolutely superb.

Pouring at GTMW 2012
Dark black pour small brown head. Smells "nummy" was the first thing I said when I sniffed this glass. Huge bourbon barrel nose mixed with lots of chocolate roasty notes and a nice hint of lactose. THis made me think of a perfect monster milk stout on bourbon barrels. Huge thick chewy delicious palate. Sweet flavor, syrups milk chocolate, butter, vanilla,. Delicious clean finish left me drooling after a swallow.
This was one of the best beers at fest!

Bottle shared by MatSciGuy! Dark inky black pour, little ring of carbonation and a nice rich mellow chocolate and light bourbon aroma. Flavor was just as good as the aroma, mellow bourbon, dark chocolate, coffee and slightly thick an bitter on the finish (but well balanced). Really nice beer, I wouldn’t mind trying to get a bottle of this for myself.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2013 On tap. Basically a bourbon county clone. It beats it in aroma though. Just a solid beer, had it on tap. Big bourbon notes but tempered by that awesome stout base. 1515 is even better.

What a surprisingly great BA Imp stout. This pours ink black with nice brown head. Aroma is huge vanilla bourbon, chocolate and ash. Taste is amazingly toasty smooth and rich with great flavors. Awesome.

Had on tap at the Anniversary party.
The smell is of strong bourbon and a really sweet vanilla. Just a tad of coffee that compliments the barrel and vanilla. The taste is outstanding. Coats the mouth and the vanilla/marshmallow flavor really comes through. This is excellent. Central Waters has never let me down.

Bottle to snifter thanks MatsciGuy. Pours black brown with a thin khaki head that fades to a spot of film and thin collar. Aroma is strong bourbon and chocolate with brown sugar, vanilla and some prune. Taste is all the above with a rich bitter chocolate and licorice dark fruit and vanilla. Palate is medium and slick with a dry chalky warming finish. Really great beer!

Bottle from trade in Asheville, NC. Super robust bourbon aroma and flavor, but really quite well balanced. A great beer.
