3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle from Steve’s, $1.69
Ar: Lightly spicy, fruity aroma with a decent yeastiness.
Ap: Pours a very hazy light orange-straw with a frothy head atop my tulip.
T: Fairly sweet, malty. The finish doesn’t have as much of a tanic bite to it, which makes it feel unbalanced.
P: Somewhat thick and sticky. Carbonation is very, very mild.
O: Just okay. Cloyingly sweet without a bit of a bite on the finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Distinctly Belgian, malty sweetness with a hint of tartness and spice. A bit of bitterness carries through. The alcohol content is well masked,

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a gold/amber color with white head. Pretty light for the ABV, hidden well. Some spice and hops on the aroma; palate is the same, with a distinct Belgian style yeast note.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Stand-offish at first but increasingly grew on me as it went down. Drank bottled and a bit sour at first but finished pleasing to the palate.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy light orange amber with medium to small creamy white head, partially lasting. Pleasant light aroma, belgian yeast, light citrus, light spice, slightly candied. Flavor follows but more on the sweeter side. Medium body. Palate a little syrupy. Moderate bitterness, fairly sweet. Good down nicely enough, especially for the alcohol content, which isn’t really noticeable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. I thought it was fairly light and refreshing, and I am surprised to see it is so high in alcohol. Lightly sweet with yeast and sugar. A little spice on the palate, though I don’t know if there are actually any spices. Good.

From a bottle. Solid, and remarkably refreshing for 8.5 percent. Nice and spicy, herbal and full flavored.

Ggvku decent enough Belgium ale. For my money I'd just get the real thing.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is not strong with really any flavor. Some malt spice, a bit of yeast but very faint and very faint head as well. Taste is weak and the body is pretty light. Sweet with an almost crisp finish. Has the taste of a belgian but not well refined. Refreshing and decent but nothing to write home about especially with the other beers Central Waters has to choose from.

3.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap in a tulip at Map Room Chicago. Chestnut gold pour, darker than the name suggests, with a very dense cream colored head. Full coat for lace. Woman is faint yeast that --honestly-- smells like freezer burn. The flavor, however, is outrageously good. No freezer burn here. Creamy, airy, but with lots of flavor. Sweet golden malts are masterfully woven with the flavors of the Belgian yeast and European hops. Amazingly balanced and executed. Grassy hop bitterness sits atop mild sweetness in the finish.
