Pours clear amber with thin head. The nose is toffee, honey, brown sugar and booze. The taste is fruity esters, citrus hops, brown sugar and bourbon. Medium bodied. Nice little hoppy Barleywine. 4.1

Deep red brown, light tan head. Raisins, molasses and vanilla. Quite sweet. Thick body, very oily. Quite upfront alcohol. Fine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle ’13 - pours a murky brown w/ a slight tan head. The nose is bourbon, malty, sweetness, and oak. The taste is malty, bourbon, and dates. Smooth start with a slight bitter finish, a tad harsh on the end. Overall pretty good!

Bottled 355ml. -Courtesy of MatSciGuy, shared with him and Marko (thanks!). Amber coloured, small off-white head, dry bourbon nose. Strong sticky malty, dried fruits, bourbon and some caramel with noticable alcohol in the finish. Really good brew.

Bottle at Craig’s. Dark amber, overly vanilla, sweet toffee, caramel, vanilla dominates too much.

Bottle. Very smooth with a rich aroma. The taste was a little overpowering, but a good bourbon flavor with cappuchino notes. Just a little strong for my taste, but very unique.

Another proof of MatSciGuy’s generosity, huge thanks! Poured a dark amber-red body with an off white head. Very complex, excellent aroma - bourbon, vanilla, yoghurt, dough, raisins, strong caramel, soft in general, just slightly sticky. Wow! Strong creamy, caramelly sweet taste, with fine vanilla & bourbon notes, cappuccino, not that much alcohol in the taste yet warming, just light bitterness. Something else that’s illegible. All in all, a superb beer.

On draught at the Blind Tiger. Pours a hazy brown with a thin tan head that lasted through the first two sips and left light lace. Huge aroma of sweet caramel and vanilla along with notes of bourbon and oak. The flavor is very sweet, probably too sweet for most. The caramel is almost chewy its so sweet. Lots of vanilla present as well. Bourbon and oak present as well. A bit boozy in the finish. A solid ale, but heavily influenced by the barrel.
