3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pours dark brown with thin tan head. Malty sweet aroma. Taste caramel malts and slight bourbon. Dull oaky finish. Palate full with alcohol burn.
Pretty good, I could have used a little more sweetness and a little less oak on the finish.

2013. An interesting blend of English and American styles. Pretty boozy, honestly, yet the caramel and pulverized malts integrate into straight up enjoyment. Lacks the drinkability and overall refinement of the best of style brews, still delicious.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pour is a very murky amber/brown with a quickly disappearing khaki head. Strong bourbon notes on the nose, lots of vanilla, oak and caramel, syrupy floral hoppiness, and a bit of alcohol and raisin. Wow, a very rich, smooth beer. As expected, lots of oak and vanilla up front from the barrel, sweet caramel, its quite boozy, dark fruits, and a slightly hoppy finish. Full bodied, strong bourbon taste, and dangerously drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle courtesy of bytemesis. Hazy caramel color, virtually no carbonation, just the slightest dusting of foam settles permanently on the surface. Aroma is very boozy. There is a sweet raisiny quality mixed with a dash of hops but it is overpowered by the alcohol and so doesnít assert itself as strongly as I would like. The taste brings in some caramely/chocolatey notes in a vain attempt to balance the sharp alcohol and bitterness. Hop bitterness stays nicely through the finish, an unexpected aspect that I really enjoy about this beer. Palate is quite dry. Overall, a little rough around the edges for my tastes.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle in a snifter. Pours deep brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, vanilla, lots of caramel and toffee and hints of chocolate, plus some light hops. Flavor the same with a great blend of bourbon and a barley wine. Smooth, thicker texture. A good beer.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle shared by Irishboy. Pours very hazy, dirty dark brown with no head. Aroma is like bourbon with raisins. Flavor is toffee, bourbon, raisin. Maybe a hint of oak. Itís not heavily sweet, so there must be some hop in it. Itís very exceedingly tasty.
