Bottle thanks to Mike, thanks Mike! Dark amber with off white head. Aroma of dark fruit, raisins, chocolate and oak. Taste has lots of bourbon oak, some dried fruits, vanilla and chocolate. Sweet and a little alcoholic. Very tasty

No bottling information.
Appearance: The body is murky with a reddish-brown hue. The head is short and settles quickly into a very thin light tan coating with a foamy yet creamy ring.
Aroma: The aroma is fruity and complex, lots of fig with oak, bourbon and vanilla, tannins are noticed as well. Thereís a slight musk and the aroma is a touch sweet while showing a touch of booze. The aroma has good strength, itís not hard to see whatís hiding here.
Taste: The intro is musky malts with bourbon, sweet caramel and figs are present by the mid-taste with an odd sort of air freshener chemical overlying the finish. Oaky tannins are noticed throughout and the finish is oaky and dry. The finish lingers for a while, notably in the way of a mild burning sensation in the back of my throat.
Palate: Thick bodied and mildly carbonated.
Overall: I love the body on this and it smells decent enough, but the finish is a hot and the overlying air freshener finish is something I donít enjoy. Iím not sure if this has been aged too long, or not long enough, but I donít enjoy how this is drinking to a degree that would cause me to buy it again.

Bottle generously included by madbeerbaron. Pours an opaque brown-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, fruitiness, some citrusy hops coming through as well. Taste is heavy sweet, mild-medium bitter. Finish is surprisingly bitter. Full bodied, smooth, soft carbonation. Nice barley wine.

12oz bottle from Breeze Thru, cellar aged 8 months at cellar temp. Pours a very brownish brown with a bit of a tan head into my New Holland tulip. Almost no lacing. Aroma has sweet vanilla ... and vanilla, with nuts and dark fruits. And vanilla. Taste is of sweet vanilla, a variety of fruits with some nice nuttiness and some wood. Medium to full bodied and sticky. With alcohol. Finishes heavily sweet. Great combo between the vanilla and the fruitiness, just a bit too sweet.

Heavy dark alcohol fruit flavors. A really nice sipper. Starting to come around on the barley wine style.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2013 Bottle: dense, swampy copper with a thin beige head thatís pretty creamy and frothy when you swirl the glass. Aroma is very dense; thick, buttery caramel, sweet & sticky toffee, molasses, black licorice, mild vanilla, & plenty of bourbon-soaked oak, but not an overpowering amount. Some figs & dates open up with warmth, with larger bouts of toffee. Taste is nice and sweet up front with warming bourbon soaked dates, covered in molasses, and drizzled with sweet & sticky caramel. Buttered toffee, figs, plentiful vanilla, & a finish of wet oak with some dark fruit resonance. Very balanced & drinkable considering the style. Very tasty.

Bottle sampled at a tasting. From notes. Bourbon and vanilla with loads of dark fermented fruits and carmel. Sweeter than I expected, but very good.

Aroma: caramel, bread, alcohol, woody. Appearance: brown, cloudy, tan foam, frothy. Taste: medium sweetness, virtually no bitterness. Palate: medium body, thin feel, soft carbonation, subtlely bitter. Overall: A nice barleywine, not too unlike Weyerbacherís Insanity though thinner; not unlike Lost Abbeyís Angel Share but half the price. I picked this up in Pennsylvania last week but only got one. Iílll buy more if I get back down there sometime soon.

Too hoppy. The hops overwhelm other elements of this beer. Had this at the Beer Geeks of Northwest Arkansas.
