The aroma was full of bourbon, oak, vanilla, chocolate, roast and alcohol. Wow, the taste was heavy bourbon and oak. Wonderfull flavors come together as it warms. Bourbon flavors might be a tad too overpowering as expected, but should start to mellow after some time. Can’t get much better. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Pours black but not pitch black, some light penetrates the glass. Not much of a head appears. Aroma was of tobacco, roastiness, bourbon, and some vanilla. On the first taste I noticed this seemed pretty thin for a imp stout and I was waiting to feel the alcohol but i didnt. I dont know how the alcohol is hidden in this with not much sweetness. Flavor seemed a little smokey, light bourbon but not overpowering, maybe a little chocolate. Great beer, I liked this alot. 19641948 (492), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 25, 2007 Pours an intense black color with a hefty khaki chocolate milk head. Laces in a thin sheet that clings tenaciously. Aromas of sweet woody vanilla and a wisp of smoke. My eyes close and I inhale deeply to enjoy this scent. Flavors give the palate a nice dose of woody vanilla again, along with some roasted coffee bean, bitter baking chocolate, and a warming shot of bourbon. Minimal carbonation lends to a creamy mouthfeel. Such a drinkable beer; the bourbon notes are solid yet not overpowering. A good one. nflmvp (13), Fox Valley, Wisconsin, USA

Smell: HEAVENLY.... smoky bourbon, coffee, molasses, dark chocolate.
Taste: WOW. Homerun! Again, bourbon, coffee, etc.
Moutfeel: Amazingly smooth for the higer than average ABV. Thick and coating...even creamy. Very light alcohol tingle. I find this stuff to be amazing.
Drinkabilty: Simply outstanding. I can’t seem to get enough of this amazingly smooth, yet complex BBS. Likely the highest rating I’ve given to any beer.

pours a black tarish color with slight brown head and lacing.
The smell is whiskey esque with a good sense of toffee, nuts, and light whipped chocolate.
The taste is lighter than expected, but with a thick, and slightly bitey mouthfeel. I get a lot of toffee and nuts. Zero fruit sense. A little roasted bitterness, and molassis.
Perfect as an after dinner drink, or paired with a thicker stock soup. blankboy (3201), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I’m pretty bourboned out so even though this is a small bottle, I thought it best to share it with my friends. Pours a murky reddish-brown with a small diminishing tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate and hops. Flavour’s roasty and not too bourboney, which is nice. It’s a little lactic and has coffee notes and some alcohol in the finish. Medium to full bodied. This is pretty good though I don’t think I could drink a whole bottle of it to myself. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
