12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a small tan head. Nose is roast, malt, bourbon, oak, vanilla, chocolate. Flavor follows but isn’t as nicely balanced as BCBS, which is similar; a bit on the sweet side. Smooth mouthfeel but slightly watery. Good but not great.

Shared a 16 oz. growler. Pours very dark. Drank from wine glass slightly below room temperature. Very nice aroma. Chacolate, vanilla, caramel, coffee and of course a hint of bourbon. Excellent dessert beer. Cheers

Bottle from Homer321 in trade as an extra! Big thanks. 2013 bottle poured to a FW Barrelworks Teku. Pours dark brown to black with a half finger of creamy khaki head. Aroma of graham cracker, vanilla, oak, bourbon, coconut maybe, caramel cream. Flavor is sweet caramel, chocolate, sweet anise, bourbon booze, vanilla finish. Mmm. Body is medium, maybe on the thin for the style but doesn't take away much from the nice flavors, with medium carbonation.

Pours black with a slight red highlight, no head. Nose is prominent bourbon, oak barrel, vanilla. Taste is charred wood, barrel, lots of sweet vanilla, a long chocolatey roasty note in the middle, boozy bourbon and alcohol burn on the finish. Sweet, no coffee to bitter it but the barrel rounds out the notes. Very smooth and creamy. A bit too boozy for only 9.5%. Very good, not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. The pour is more of a brownish black with a smaller light tan head that fades down quickly leaving a decent lace. The aromas are not as complex as I'd like them to be. There is a heavy whiskey punch in the front end and a light bit of licorice and cocoa falling through that. It smells like it'll be really light. The flavor is a little better. There is a bit more complexity with a roasted malt and licorice to with a little bit of bourbon and a decent vanilla flavor. The mouth feel is really thin and almost watery. There is a light carbonation and there isn't a whole lot helping it. The aftertaste is quick-vanishing and roasty. Decent imperial stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep brown to black color with a thin rim of light brown head. Aroma is bourbon, roasted malts, oak, vanilla. Flavor is slightly astringent, burnt malts, coffee, vanilla. Medium body with a lingering sweet burnt character. Excellent beer!

CW knock it out of the park here with a very well done BB stout. Their rendering of the style is something of a lighter option than many of its’ contemporaries. Pours a nice dark color with a sweet boozy nose. Relatively easy sipping - the body is not cloying or syrupy, though a little stickiness is evident. There is a smoothness here that interests me to age a couple bottles for a year to see how it blends. Class.
