UPDATED: APR 2, 2014 On tap @ craft 47. Bourbon, bourbon and more bourbon. Aroma and taste is full of bourbon. Nice balance between the beer and bourbon. IMO right there with BCBS. One complaint could have used a bit more carbonation.

Wow, best bourbon stout of the season. Poured from bottle to tulip. Good head, hints of carmel and bourbon. Not overpowering, but an adventure. I will age a few other bottles, but a great beer. Cheers!

Glad I waited to pop this with jrob21. Pours nearly black with small tan head. Scent is bourbon chocolate. Flavor is sweet with earthy hop back bite. Boozy, thick, and delicious. Bottle - Received in Trade

Poured dark brown with aromas of light chocolate, roast and booze. Flavors are the same easy drinker for a ba beer could drink this all day.

12oz bottle pours a dark chocolate brown with a tan head and little lacing. Roasty, slightly alcoholic, licorice aroma. Very smooth and delicious.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a dark brown with medium frothy beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast, chocolate, toffee, and oak. Medium mouthfeel with a rich chocolate malt and roast with light dry finish. Very good, hiding alcohol well.

Bottle from a trade. Thanks, Chuck! Vintage 2012. Dark molasses brown with a tiny layer of dark tan head. Lots of chocolate and vanilla aroma. Taste is chocolate and bourbon. Very delicious. Everything I hope for when trying a bourbon barrel stout.

12oz bottle from Tosa Wine & Spirits. Pours an opaque black with a circle of tan head, leaving some lace. Aroma has - Hello Vanilla - heavy vanilla/bourbon, with caramel ... and more vanilla/bourbon. Lovely! Taste is of sweet vanilla, some chocolate and faint caramelly malts ... and bourbon. Medium bodied. Finishes sweetly vanilla-y long, with alcohol. If you don’t like bourbon, this is not your brew. It was a nice, bourbony tasty beverage.

A pruny and figgy nose. Deep dark chocolate taste up front, slight bitter coffee finish. Drain oil black in appearance. A great fireside sippin’ beer.

A respectable bourbon barrel stout. Thinner and rougher than the gold standard BCBS, perhaps milder and sweeter overall. Would like a more in-depth re-rate.
