Bottle sampled at the Hopsnobbery Collective stout tasting on 1.16.09 courtesy of Dogbrick. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Malty and syrupy aroma with some booze. Equally malty flavor that is also somewhat tart and a bourbony finish. Pretty good overall.

A very good stout. The bourbon is noticable but regardless of the pluses that that adds it is very good. Dark roasty notes and coffee throughout. Damn good if you can find it.

This poured black in color with a thin beige head that fades away. The nose immediately gave off aromas of bourbon followed by caramel, vanilla and roasted malt. In the mouth it was medium-bodied and concentrated but with lots of carbonation rushing to the tongue. Like the nose the palate immediately shows the bourbon followed by caramel malt.

Aroma was bourbon and vanilla. Flavor was sweet, alcoholy and finished mellow. Another ok IS, but not that great.

Pours dark with a medium brown head. Sweet bourbon aroma with a hint of coffee. Malty mouth feel and a dry, roasted flavor with hints of dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla.

Pours a rich black color with large tannish head. Aroma is of vanilla, bourbon, syrup, dark fruit, some roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is much the same with the maple syrup/vanilla character making it interesting and worth seeking out. Palate is pleasing, not brash but not docile either. Wonderfully done impy!

Pours pitch black with a medium mocha head that fades quickly to a thin ring. Aroma is heavy on vanilla, bourbon, lactose, and maple syrup. Taste is vanilla, bourbon, and some chocolate with some nice alcohol warmth going down. Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy.

Bottle pours black with a large tan head. The aroma is very vanilla, chocolate, and maple syrup on pancakes. The flavor is vanilla, maple syrup, chocolate, and some warming alcohol. The palate is smooth and rich, very nice. I really think that I must have a really good batch of this as it is quite good. Wow, glad I got it!
