3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 thome50 (627) - Boringville aka Irvine, California, USA - JUL 6, 2012Bottle from, I think, Matty and Mark last year. Found in a random fridge and shared with a friend way into BA stouts. Pours a deep, jet black with minimal tan head. Aroma is chocolate and light coffee and toffee. Taste is most dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, no real coffee. The toffee is there and I pick up a little bitterness from somewhere. Ok mix.

Bottle pour. This stout is pitch black with mucho aromas of bourbon and a creamy palate.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 AZBennett (112) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Pours a nice shiny black with a very minimal tan head. Aromas are bourbon, chocolate, vanilla and coconut. Flavors are perfectly matched bourbon and vanilla, then just a touch of heat and finally some cocoa and caramel. The palate is a little thin on this beer and I had initially rated it a 3 but bumped it to a 4 after this warmed up. Overall, a pretty good bourbon stout that stacks up nicely in my expanding realm of BB Stouts. I just wish I could more of this brew.
4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Bestbrew1 (54) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 17, 2013
This beer is so close to KBS it isn’t even funny. KBS has a little more chocolate on the palate but the two are so similar but this is a little more available. The bourbon barrels they use or their aging process provides a beer that isn’t taken over by the bourbon. It just adds hints of vanilla to the nose of this brew.

12 ounce thanks to Justin. Bourbon and vanilla in the nose and body. Bit of chocolate. Thin overall. Nice.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 oneeighthcuban (103) - - APR 16, 2013
Smells like bourbon and oak as well as roasted malts. Alcohol notes as well. Tastes very bourbon like as well as the slight oaky flavor. Very smooth and balanced. A great barrel aged beer.

Pours dark brown, like weak coffee. Looks transparent. Beige head. Lots of fine bubbles. Pretty good retention. Aroma is brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, a little booze and mild booze. Taste is fairly sweet. Lots of chocolate. Dries out some towards the end. A bit prickly in the mouthfeel. Pretty good barrel presence. Solid imperial stout.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hamilton23 (551) - Alpine, California, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Poured from 12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma is some rye whiskey, coconut and vanilla and the aroma of a porter, not a stout...some metallic aroma there. Taste follows the nose.

Nice sample pour of deep dark with full khaki head. Nose is bourbon and chocolate, very nice. Smooth rich malt. Flavor is nice bourbon without overpowering. Chocolate and rich. Nice

Chef Paul’s. Snifter. Just a terrific aroma of coconut and sweet cream. The beer pours a heavy dark black, no head at all. Very thick, sweet. More vanilla and licorice. Only knock is that it thins out a bit at the end, but otherwise this is very good, will get again.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 kimjongill (188) - - MAR 4, 2013
Fresh from bottle. Decent aroma of malts. Taste is great and boozy. Palate is too thin. One of the first noticeably terrible mouthfeels I’ve encountered. That said, this almost works as a "session" imperial stout. The flavors aren’t amazing, but once you adjust to them, this becomes very drinkable, and for the price, could serve as a nightcap beer or the like.
