Pours a deep brown, almost black with one finger of pale head, aroma of bourbon is very strong but fades quickly, gives very strong coffee and bourbon flavors, with a hint of vanilla, fairly thing body, but overall a very strong beer

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, thanks to Alan, 03/13/2014. Pours dark brown, nearly black, light tan head fades relatively quickly to a few wisps on the surface, small ring of lacing left over. Aroma of chocolate, medium roast, touch of dark fruit melding with sweet bourbon notes, fairly prominent coconut component. Taste is bitter dark roast and chocolate, some coffee, bit ashy, offset by fruity overtones, with vanilla cola and bourbon. Medium body, on the thin side for the style. Decent.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, bourbon, oak, vanilla, chocolate and light coffee, and a little dough. Flavor a very nice balance of everything. Smooth, thicker texture. A good BA imperial stout.

On tap @ craft 47. Bourbon, bourbon and more bourbon. Aroma and taste is full of bourbon. Nice balance between the beer and bourbon. IMO right there with BCBS. One complaint could have used a bit more carbonation.

Wow, best bourbon stout of the season. Poured from bottle to tulip. Good head, hints of carmel and bourbon. Not overpowering, but an adventure. I will age a few other bottles, but a great beer. Cheers!

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a dark brown with medium frothy beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast, chocolate, toffee, and oak. Medium mouthfeel with a rich chocolate malt and roast with light dry finish. Very good, hiding alcohol well.
