Absolutely fantastic brew! Unlike MANY of the Ba offerings this showed a little restraint. Everything that a impy needs and then some.

Yum. I have been waiting for the.cold days to arrive so that I can enjoy decent stout porter and Imperials once again without having to take a nap. Bottle graciously delivered from UDbeernut. Body is slick in the glass and leaves no legs. Minimal head. Nose of oak and light malt. Body is exceptionally well balanced. Slippery dark malts followed by a twinge of oak to begin th malt laden okay finish. Props to Art.

bottle to snifter. Nose is fairly balanced between booze with vanilla and a light cocoa chocolate aroma. pour is pitch black, minimal light brown head. Taste reveals a LOT of vanilla initially, then fading to a bit of chocolate with a moderate bitterness; dries out a bit on the tongue and then shows off some woodiness. moderate alcohol warming in the finish. a light stickiness is on the lips at the finish. overall, a very enjoyable beer, but I think 12 oz is enough, mainly due to the alcohol warming, almost a bit hot.

Countbeer (4517) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2014
Bottle: Thanks jdb288: Served in a Chouffe glass: Vintage 2012: Brown pour. Smaller but thick creamy beige light brown head. Body is black. Nose has some good soft and smooth bourbon notes wherein the vanilla and wood come forwards. Also hints of studf like malts, caramel, some cinnamon, mocha, marzipan and a strange mix of soy, sweaty socks, sweet tar and some bay leaf. Quute a nice aroma! Flavour has silky tones of bourbon, spice, malts, chalk and light roast, some bitters, mocha, caramel, cream, light prunes, some marzipan, vanilla, some sweets, light bay leaf and wood. Aftertaste lots of malts with a light bourbon (vanilla, wood) tone and some mocha with sweet soy. Low carbo, close to silky close oily mouthfeel, close to full bodied and a light sticky light spiced light creamy texture. Lots of bourbon, absolutely not bad but was expecting a bit more thicker beer.

Aug First Sunday backlog. This is what most bourbon beers should strive to be. No flaws, not overly complex, just a super solid base beer aged well it a little whiskey. Smooth bourbon, vanilla, coconut, chocolate, some distant dark fruits. Really nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks DSG. Black. A little iodine, chocolate and coconut aroma, vanilla, coconut, a little sweet taste. No carbonation, smooth, full-bodied.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4971) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2014
Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a black color with a small foamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet toasty coconut, chocolate, pineapple and bourbon. The flavor was malty with strong bourbon, coconut, pineapple, toasty malts, vanilla and a bitey boozy presence. Long malty bourbon, coconut and pineapple finish. Full bodied. The biting booziness lingers and detracts.

On tap at House of 1000 Beers. Great bourbon nose, rich and silky with cocoa, molasses, and vanilla. Dark black opaque with thin head. Medium-heavy body with medium-heavy carbonation. Sweet and alcoholic, big bourbon taste. Very smooth and warming with a rich profile. Smooth warm bourbon finish with sweet bourbon chocolate after.

Bottle: Deep brown, almost black body with small chunks of brown sediment scattered all throughout. Cream tan foam settles nicely on top, lasting as a medium ring around the glass. Aroma contains maple syrup soaked Rolo candies, milk chocolate, sweet caramel, smooth bourbon & light wood, hints of vanilla, brown sugar, & perhaps even a little coconut. Smells like a candy bar with smooth bourbon drizzle. Taste is very fudge heavy. Wow. Like taking a bite into a devil’s food cake that’s been laced with a maple & bourbon reduction sauce. Slightly tannic wood, whiskey, bittersweet cacao, faint vanillin, burnt & ashy malt, mild anise, & charred brown sugar linger into a warming finish. Coating, lacquered mouth feel. This is a decadently complex barrel aged stout that passed under my radar for a while. Very tasty!

Pours a warm sable with a thin tan head. Smoked malt aroma has notes of bourbon-soaked wood and quality coffee. Flavor echoes the aroma and hen some, adding sweet caramel to the mix. Texture is quite firm and quite fizzy. Worth seeking.

_angst_ (2854) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 17, 2014
Bottles courtesy of Summer Santa 2014. Thank you! Pours very dark reddish brown with a almost non-existent mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, sweet dark bread, vanilla fudge, toffee, charcoal, charred wood, caramelized nuts, sherry, hay, moist soil, cocoa powder, sweet liquorice candy and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark bread, burnt cereal, charred wood, bitter, chocolate, hay, prunes, vanillin, liquorice root, soy sauce, toasted coconut, moist soil and alcohol. Mouthfeel is round, slightly watery, slightly roasted astringent and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark bread, toasted nuts, vanillin, charred wood, moist soil, hay, cocoa powder and alcohol. A good beer but lacks too much in flavour and mouthfeel to live up to the current average…
