Appearance is dark if not black in the light with a about a 1 fingure head that has an off white head. Aroma is what you would expect from a bourbon barrel age beer! Up front it is huge with bourbon and vanilla, so distinct and perfect. This years vintage barrel stands out so much more than the previous. Taste is incredible with ,aster full work that shines with a hint of chocolate up front quickly followed by the bourbon and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium but yet so smooth. No question you. An tell this has been aged over a year in the barrels if not longer. I can’t believe this is made and can’t recommend getting it if you truly enjoy a real barrel aged stout. So much barrel flavor in this. Looking forward to cellaring some of these!!!

Drinking the 2014 from a snifter. Decent lacing and head. Wonderful bourbon and caramel nose. A little hot, but great flavors of chocolate, caramel and toffee. A little sticky, but smooth. Overall one of the better bb stouts out there.

we make beer with all types of flavor profiles added in. these are usually things we like. well we like pizza, do we make a beer that tastes like pizza? probably, but thats not a great beer and this is also not a great beer. because it tastes like strong bourbon and to me that is not something that denotes greatness. to me if you make a really good stout and use bourbon to accentuate the beer aaahh then you have done something. perhaps a really great beer that tastes only like asparagus would be great and educate me on this issue.

Poured from bottle. Eye-watering aroma of bourbon, vanilla, oak and malt. Stout black with trace of tan head. Tasting roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, bourbon (I wonder if those barrels were completely empty when they added the beer), and maybe some dried fruit. Alcohol noticed in back. Creamy feel - not too dry or sweet. Mellows as it warms. Excellent stuff.

Sweet, malty, yet bland in every category compared to similar stouts yet I wouldn’t buy this one because is not significant in any category

Pours a deep dark brown with near zero head......aroma of booze, coffee.....taste is booze, coffee, chocolate, lays a bit flat on the tongue with a bit of residual sugars. Slight vanilla at the very back end.

Bottle. Pours deep, dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is rich whiskey, vanilla, and oak along with lighter notes of chocolate, spicy hops, and dark fruit esters. Flavor is roast and chocolate malts, booze, oak, faint espresso, along with light vanilla and dark fruit sweetness. Medium/full body and medium carbonation.

SG111 (299) - New York, USA - JAN 26, 2015
Bottled, 2014 vintage. Pours black with small tan head. Aroma is intense bourbon, vanilla, oak. The bourbon is not mild, it?s very intense as soon you crack open the bottle. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, and again intense bourbon. Amazing bourbon barrel Stout. Needless to say it?s full bodied but also heavy carbonation for an imperial stout.

Heavy bourbon nose with a huge flavor palette of vanilla, chocolate, roasty notes. Don't think twice and get this one while its around!
