Appearance is dark if not black in the light with a about a 1 fingure head that has an off white head. Aroma is what you would expect from a bourbon barrel age beer! Up front it is huge with bourbon and vanilla, so distinct and perfect. This years vintage barrel stands out so much more than the previous. Taste is incredible with ,aster full work that shines with a hint of chocolate up front quickly followed by the bourbon and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium but yet so smooth. No question you. An tell this has been aged over a year in the barrels if not longer. I can’t believe this is made and can’t recommend getting it if you truly enjoy a real barrel aged stout. So much barrel flavor in this. Looking forward to cellaring some of these!!!

Bottled, 2014 vintage. Pours black with small tan head. Aroma is intense bourbon, vanilla, oak. The bourbon is not mild, it?s very intense as soon you crack open the bottle. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, and again intense bourbon. Amazing bourbon barrel Stout. Needless to say it?s full bodied but also heavy carbonation for an imperial stout.

Black pour with a on e finger creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel, lots of sweet bourbon, roast, tons of vanilla, a little leather, a hint of coffee and some odd, blueberry meets prune and vinous fruity notes, that actually work really well. Flavor is sweet, dark caramel and deep vanilla, toffee cookies, dark chocolate, vanilla cake, date nut bread, a hint of licorice, a decent dose of bourbon heavy booziness and some day old light roast coffee. Heavy body, oily, creamy, goopy and syrupy feel on entry, light, but blanketing and pretty sharp carbonation, fairly strong boozy heat, but not inappropriate for the style. Very enjoyable overall, very bourbon forward, reminds me of a fairly fresh BCBS x ~75%.

Bottle thnx to a trade . 2012 vintage Pours clear, very dark brown . Small , darker white head . Smell is bourbon, sweet , oak , thick and dark , roasty malts . Taste is nice, intense bourbon, rather sweet, with a grainy undertone. aftertaste is amazing , chocolate - bourbon - oak sweetness . Perhaps a bit on the thin side - which is the only thing keeping this away from being a new favourite beer . High carbo , which is of course depending on the thickness, so thats the same aspect . Very nice beer though !
