Appearance is dark if not black in the light with a about a 1 fingure head that has an off white head. Aroma is what you would expect from a bourbon barrel age beer! Up front it is huge with bourbon and vanilla, so distinct and perfect. This years vintage barrel stands out so much more than the previous. Taste is incredible with ,aster full work that shines with a hint of chocolate up front quickly followed by the bourbon and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium but yet so smooth. No question you. An tell this has been aged over a year in the barrels if not longer. I can’t believe this is made and can’t recommend getting it if you truly enjoy a real barrel aged stout. So much barrel flavor in this. Looking forward to cellaring some of these!!!

355ml bottle, v2010, at home, from trade with bytemesis. Thanks Mike! Dark brown almost black color with beige head. Roasted malty aroma, bready, caramel, chocolate, dark dried fruits, wood, bourbon, light wineous notes. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma with smoked notes at the end. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Strong vanilla and oak notes throughout backed up by chocolate malts and a potent roastiness. Great beer!

Black pour, good sized mocha head. Huge bourbon and vanilla aroma. Barrel is at the forefront here, whiskey and wood up front. Vanilla sweetness more prominent as this warms. Heavier body, but currently something of a barrel bomb. For those that like a bit of beer in their whiskey.

Bottle from a trade. Many thanks lurkaholic! Dark brown beer, beige foam. Medium carbonation. Light roastiness, lots of bourbon, vanilla and booze. Good but too sweet and sticky for me.

Outstanding. Tastes of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, roast. Very dark, and was also very sweet. Loved this one. On tap at most places in stevens point it seemed like.

12oz bottle pours a thick black color with a small amount of beige head. Lots of bourbon flavor overpowering a little. There's some harsh flavors in this that linger after. Maybe this would smooth out a little with cellaring.

Bottle [2011 vintage] @ weekly tasting shared with Joes. Very dark brown to black color, medium sized white to off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, lots of bourbon, lightly vanilla and sweetish. Taste malts, a hint of hops, loads of bourbon again though not really that strong or dominantly as is to be expected I guess. Still, this beer offers plenty of flavours sort of speak. The flavor being so good still might even suggest it was too strong when originally released. Happy to have tasted this though. Superb beer!
