This stout pours with a dark brown to black body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty with a slight fruitiness and a little roastiness with a very slight chocolate note. The flavor is sweet, malty and full of vanilla with a little oak and some chocolate. The finish is full of bitter chocolate. Full bodied and smooth.

A deep red beer with a beutiful chocolate-brown head. The aroma is sweet primarily malty with some roasted and woody notes. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of over ripe fruit, but also some wood and chocolate.

12 oz bottle: Opaque black color with small light tan head. Aroma has fair amount of bourbon, slightly pungent, vinegary notes, hint of bittersweet chocolate and vanilla. Flavor has smooth chocolate, faint touch of bourbon, chewy malt backbone, with a mildly sweet finish.

First - wanted to try this for quite some time. Pours out brown in color. There is alot of bourbon going on here, perhaps too much for me to like it due to the fact that I got sick on that stuff quite a bit in college. I have another bottle which I plan to sit on for quite some time to see how the flavor develops. This is something worth trying, not really something I would want to delve into again. Thanks alot John for the opportunity to try this!

Dark brown, not as pitch black as some Impy’s.Dark tan head.Nose nasal receptors were in heaven with this one.Bourbon-oak,big vanilla, roasted malts, dark chocolate.each one easily enough detectable from the other.I had a hard time understanding how they do this and why can’t more beers be this good??Loved the blend of vanilla and chocolate, much less the overtones of the bourbon.Great brew.a little thin for an Impy. Re-rate. this has gone down hill some after the first batch. Pity

Bottle provided by my man Styles and the fat guy in a red suit. A supremely deep mahogany colored beer, deep rich ruby only shows though when backlit. Clear. Fast fading light tan head subsides to a ring fairly quickly and leaves little lacing behind. Pleasant aroma, hints of molasses and maple syrupe, moderate chocollate presence. Medium bodied, lightly boozy on the palate. Feels a bit thin at times, perhaps I am looking for too much. RIch chocolate flavor with vanilla notes, moderately tannic. Overall a well done barrel aged beer.

Pours out a deep brown with a small lacing head. Very nice aroma of bourbon and oak. The mouthfeel is a bit more watery than I was expecting. Flavor is complex with roasted malt, burnt fruit, oak and a bourbon, alcohol finish. Good beer, but a few things hold it from passing into the great category. Thanks go out to Ughsmash for this one.

The pour reveals a deep black color with a thin beige head. Very appealing aroma of wood barrel, chocolate and roasted malt. Very good flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, wood barrel and vanilla. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. This is solid stuff.
