JPDIPSO (4210), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Mar 24, 2005 Clear, near black liquid with hint of bronze when held to the light. moderate near fizzy tan head, that settles to a meek covering lid. a few large islands of lace. Certainly looks like a stout. Coffee and roasted barley aromas reign. Slight hint of huskiness, but very faint indeed. Certainly smells like a stout. Light and flowing on the palate. feels like a dry stout. Crisp and lightly acidic. Certainly feels like a dry stout. Mild roasted flavors with only a touch of malt sweetness. Very clean and crisp. Touch of sourdough. Almost to quick and fleeting in flavor. Nearing as quick as my glassful disappeared. Certainly tastes like a dry stout. I could certainly sit down with this one for a while longer. This must be a dry irish stout. loweredsixth (939), Fresno, California, USA Jun 15, 2005 Pitch black color, opaque, with a medium (but quickly diminishing) tan head. The aroma was full of roasetd walnuts, coffee, vanilla, wet wood (wet forest), and a slight hint a rotten banana. The flavor was full of wonderful roasted coffee, dark chcoolate, and slight acidic/bitterness ion the aftertaste. The feel was very carbonated, very crisp on the tongue, with a semi-dry aftertaste, and a slight chalky residue on the tongue. Very nice dry stout. Thanks BBB63 for this one! Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA Mar 29, 2005 Pours a very dark brown, small light brown head. Aroma is of fresh roasted cofee. Flavor is dry, roasted coffee, and a little chocolate. Thanks to JpDipso for sharing this one. kramer (1864), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 13, 2006 12 oz bottle, via BBB63. Competely black pour with a small light brown head that faded to a thin ring quickly. Very dry roasted and burnt malt aroma with accents of coffee, yeast, and chocolate malt. Flavor is rather unique. Very, very dry burnt and roasted malt up front. Finish is rather chalky with lots of burnt toast and some astringency. Very light bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Mouthfeel is pretty watery, but to style. A pretty interesting beer, just loaded with burnt malt flavor for such a light bodied beer. I rather liked this one.
