BDR (1850), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Nov 21, 2007 Faint caramel malt on the grainy nose. Astringent body with faint caramel malt. Thanks to Skyview for sharing. xnoxhatex (778), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 19, 2007 12 oz bottle. Red amber with solid medium beige head. Slight lager grain with sweet malt and caramel. Flavor is grain, banana, sweet, slight dark malt. Well carbonated medium to full body that fades to a nice creaminess. Solid. JK (2356), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Nov 4, 2007 Perhaps not as fresh as it could have been, but it is only November. Great malt aroma and malt flavor. Some caramel. Good, smooth palate. Not the most flavorful oktoberfest I have had, but quite good anyway. Skyview (2657), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Oct 28, 2007 Picked up a six-pack at Trig’s in Wausau, Wisconsin. From a 12-oz bottle, pours a clear coppery amber brew with a fast dissolving off-whtie head that disipates clean. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some flowery hops with some dry toffee. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a caramel malt flavor with some dry spice, toffee and some tart pear. Finish is slightly tart at first and then a sweet biscuit and caramel malt flavor returns. No bitterness in this bottled Märzen. General_Gao (2368), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Oct 13, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was one finger high and off white. It dissipated relatively quickly to nothingness and didn’t leave any lace behind. Delicate aromas of subdued spicy hops, humble malty toffee, and a hint of apple. Pretty nice. Slightly sweet on the tongue with crisp carbonation. Malt dominated flavor without any appreciable hop contribution. Tasted of toasted bread accented by light toffee. Not bad.
