3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Not much in the nose, touch of candied malt and faded hops. Lemons, toffee malts with a touch of those earthy hops coming out in the finish. The earthiness is strange with the flavors and the body is overly watery. Ok, but nothing I’ll ever choose to drink again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours dark amber with a soapy off white head that leaves a sudsy film. Aroma has malt a little sweetness and subtle hops and hidden fruit. Taste has gentle hop presence with malt and subtle sweet fruity nuttiness. Palate is thin with a creamy dry finish. Decent and straight forward.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly hazy amber body. Nice malty aroma - buttery caramel malts. The flavor falls off quite a bit from the aroma, similar charactersitics just very thin.

At Rockwells. Caramel/malty beer with some minimal hops and a bit of roastiness. Sweetness is almost a bit cloying but over all a solid beer. Serving: Tap

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: OCT 17, 2006 From a 12 oz. bottle with a short blurb along the left side of label, no freshness date, but this is the fall ’06 release.
Poured a clear reddish copper with a foamy, fluffy white head that settled in to a thin sudsy lacing, minimal amount of sticking.
Had a fruity aroma with a very light toastiness, hints of caramel and toffee, a little powdery yeast.
Good carbonation and a soft, soft crispness, a tad watery, medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Bland and thin tasting, especially the malts, thin and watery caramel, barest hints of toastiness, weak grain taste, a watery fruitiness, the hops don’t have much of a presence and a watery caramel finish.
This was the most disappointing Oktoberfest I’ve had this season, maybe it is better from the tap, but this was a fresh sample that was well cared for, once again, disappointing. In someways, this reminds of a watered down version of the Hofbrau Munchen Oktoberfest.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Deep orange pour. Aroma is sweet caramel and Munich malts, with a slight mineral edge. Flavor is sweet caramel, toasted malt and a faint vegetal hop finish. Light tin and canned corn. A bit too sweet, needs some nice noble hop bitterness to clean this up a bit.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(bottle) Pours a clear amber color with a thin white head and a sparse smattering of lacing. Aroma smells like an almost spot-in representation of toasted bread with a spread of honey butter. Further scents of roasted barley and some musty lager yeastiness. Really not much else here. The flavor also holds a big dose of bread (tastes wheaty) with some caramel in the mid, and a pleasant flavor of roasted barley in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is touch on the high side. Overall this is a straightforward O-fest that doesn’t have any associated bells and whistles.
