Pours dark with very nice malted coffee hop aroma... good caramel accents. Flavor matches perfectly. Very good!

Black, tan creamy head. Soft vanilla coffee and cream nose ride swirls of dark chocolate. Dark roasted coffee flavors balance well on lighter chocolate tones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Nice session porter…
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - NOV 26, 2006
Draught pint at the brewpub, early October 2006. Small white head diminishes instantly atop the translucent brown-black body....massive java nose, rather creamy and soft but entrancing, hints of caramel malt moderate the coffee; not complex at all but lovely nonetheless....body is well-balanced between dark coffee roastiness, burnt grains and sugary creme brulee-caramel.....smooth, very light but never watery....long, long finish.

GABF 2006. Bronze bodied. Small tanned head. Nose is coffee, dark, bittersweet chocolate and roasty malts. Pretty typical. Taste is more of the same stuff. Coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Think some cold, but sweetened and sugared, dark coffee. Body is light-medium. There’s some moderate carbonation. Ends with more coffee and choco notes. Not a bad coffee beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 9, 2006
Draft... GABF ’06... Dark, clear, burnt orange brew with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma and flavor are of strong coffee and chocolate. The flavor is also tangy and a touch thin. Almost medium-bodied and astringent with lively carbonation. Big coffee, dry finish.

Dark pour hints of ruby in it under a nice tan head. Light coffee and chocolate aroma (pretty light all together). Avg pal. Very mellow flavor chocolates and hints of coffee.

GABF 2006. The beer pours to a transparent dark chestnut colored body with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet, coffee, nicely balance. The flavor is sweet, coffee and has a nice malt profile. Very drinkable.

This is the best Porter I think there is if you like a good medium body coffee in the morning. The color was dark brown to black and had a very rich coffee aroma. It had a chocolate start with a bold coffee flavor that would be a real eye opener on a cold winter morning.

GTMW ’06. Clear dark brown body. Cold coffee and chocolate malt aroma- nice. Roasty-bitter start to the flavor over light chocolate swewetness and goood coffee. Some acidity in the finish. A good roasty porter with a coffee addition that works well.

Enjoyed at Great Taste in Madison. This was a decent porter with an ok coffee flavor, but the truth is is that if you’ve tried another coffee stout/porter, you’ve tried this one. There was absolutely nothing noteworthy about it, but I’ll take this anyday over a BMC clone. Not bad...
