Lots of floral and citrus hops on the nose, so the disappointment in the lack of hops in the flavor was huge. Got my hopes up big time. Still, not bad.

Sampled from bottle: pours a clear but dark copper colour with a faint but noticeable tan head. Aromas of citrusy hops, carmel and ginger. Taste is of astringent hops, citrus fruit- particularly grapefruit, limes and tangerine.

Pours a dark and hazy burnt orange color with a well retained, frothy, beige colored head. Swaths of sticky lacing coat the glass in jagged ring and flare patterns. The aroma shows caramel and toffee malts, glazed biscuit, cream, and citrus and pine hops. There is also a weird vegetal note that I can’t identify, but it seems out of place. Flavors include big crystal malts, caramel, and buttery toffee, with a substantial citrus hop billing lending bittering balance. Medium bodied and chalky, with balanced carbonation. Overall, this is a decent brew, but something just seemed to be a bit "off" throughout.

12 oz bottle

Perhaps the replacement for an older IPA this is a nice addition to the Central Waters line. I hope it becomes a regular so that people can enjoy it either through purchase or trade. As with virtually every bottle from a great brewery this doesn’t disappoint at all.

Aroma / Appearance - A huge two finger head soon settled down. As it did the copper body rose in the pint glass. The nose was that of a classic IPA - yeasty with freshly cut grass in the foreground. Everything is neatly balanced to give it a solid profile.

Flavor / Palate - The mouthfeel was chewier than I expected which was a nice discovery. Orange, grass and a bit of resin trace a transformation from smooth to bitter. Exceptionally sessionable it would not be hard to tackle a six pack of this over the course of an evening.

Much more modern American interpretation than the Lac Du Bay. As a fan of C-hopped IPAs, nothing to complain about here.

Bought at Steve’s in Madison. Solid IPA with that Midwest hop flavor. Subtle and overall tasty. Not intense like West Coast beers, but good nonetheless. Golden.
