COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Traditional IPA is a hophead’s dream. The distinct sharpness of British hops and moderate alchohol are balanced by a dry, malty profile and crisp flavor. The result is a brew as smooth as a sunset paddle on the glassy waters of Lac Du Bay. Seasonal March - October.

Bottle. Murky dirty orange-gold color with a small off-white head. Very sweet caramel malts, with some citrus hop undertones. As malty as this is, it seems as though the hops are still unbalanced. Not really my bag.

Taster on tap at Old Fashioned in Madison, Wisconsin. Clear red orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves great, thicker lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Nice bigger creaminess. More dry finish. Great full mouthfeel and texture to this. Orange citrus, light spice and pine and zest. Some light caramel, bready biscuity malt. Moderate bitter taste, moderate sweet. Pretty solid balanced IPA. Not too big bodied. Easy to drink, pretty smooth.

Standard hop-heavy IPA with a bit more malty sweetness than usual to provide not so much a balance than an alternating sweet-bitter combination (though the latter is stronger).

Draft (or maybe nitro). LAstyear. Much earther, maltier, and sweeter than the typical IPAs of this range.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 7-19-14. Scents of toffee, rose, minerals, and orange. Metallic aroma. Pours a clear amber with a moderate amount of light taupe head. Extensive, long-lasting lacing boosts the appearance to a 4. Tangy taste features flavors of toffee, coffee (which surprised me in the English IPA style), minerals, and bran muffin. Malty base with a dry finish. Dry, mineral-y aftertaste. Light to medium body. Soft in the palate. Forgettable palate effects. Overall, pleasant enough but unmemorable.

Bottle. Pours an oily orange/amber. Thin dissapating head. Aromas of earthy hops, sweet malt, and licorice? Taste is bready malts and earthy hops with a bit of lingering bitterness. Medium bodied witha crisp finish. Very different than IPA’s I’ve been drinking..... so this is very nice!

Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness, woody hops and a hint of cocoa. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness and woody hops with a smooth dry moderatly bitter lingering earthy caramel finish.

Form Better Temple Mix a 6. More malty then US IPAs and the hops more herbal. Bitterness at the end of the sip. Serving: Bottle

Bottle - pours orange, with a light haze - marketed as an English IPA, but this really seems more like a malt forward American IPA - not necessarily a bad thing - flavor of toasty, bready malts and toffee, followed by fairly sharp, high hop bitterness - a lot of fruity British hop character (styrian?) - long-lingering hop bitterness in the finish - it’s alright.

BLADT (577) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUN 19, 2014
Bottle pour. Rich amber with full beige head. Webbing all the way down. Earthy hop nose. Some caramel malts. Taste shifts the focus a little more towards the malts, but retains a pleasant, grassy bitterness throughout. A bit of honey sweetness on finish. Solid.
